There might be an obvious answer to this question, but how do people keep their barrow safe when fishing overnight sessions, particularly at venues that are not totally secure? Hide bits of it in your bivvy?

You could remove wheel put it in bivvy , chain to near by tree or fish somewhere safe if its not safe at lake
One of the lakes i fish has several in the carpark for members to use not chained just left there

I've never had an issue with this to be honest anywhere I've fished but I always try to leave it next to my bivvy, not behind it if possible.
Chaining it to something is the most obvious one, alternatively some set up using a spare bite alarm and some fishing line so if it was moved it set the alarm off?

When i used to fish dodgy places, id remove the handles of the trolley and just wrap a bungey cord round it to my bedchair or bivvy peg , any one moved it id be awake. also tryed to keep it between me and the lake so i could see it as soon as i was awake. Unfortunately on day tickets etc you just have to make your gear less attractive to thiefs than everyone elses, sad but true.

I use a Fox Explorer Deluxe and just take the handles off and store it inside my Tempest brolly alongside the foot of the bed.

Buy a garage grenade clip one end to bivy and the other to a tent peg
Shame we have to consider this sort of stuff when fishing.
Can you fold it down and stick in under your bed chair? The middle bit towards the back perhaps? That or a chain or bike lock round the frame and then under the bivvy and round the bedchair was a good idea.

Their is a little device out their that you add and if your barrow moves it sounds an alarm .

You can buy portable pir alarms. I've just bought 2 to secure my gear on a not to secure lake.

I'm considering getting an ak47 and storing it under my bed so when the time comes I can blow the low life scummy *******s heads off....dont think its over the top

I take the wheel off and a single handle. Figure it's the most awkward shape/size to run off with this way.
Glad I'm not the only one paranoid about this. I normally stash any valuables at the back of the brolly. Also a bungee cord around the borrow and the head end leg of the bed chair.
Paint it pink & order a Badger vinyl logo of eBay & nobody will touch it then!!!!! 
I take the handles off and try and leave it in site. I always sleep with one of the handles in the sleeping bag just incase anything was to happen it's in easy reach!

I've had 2 movement detectors for some 25 years still have an old set that I'll pass to a friend once we get allowed out again.

chain to a tree, if no trees next to you, buy one of them big dog spikes that you screw in to the ground, put barrow over it and chain it up, they will struggle to unscrew that with a barrow chained to it, then get one of them movement alarms on the barrow.
just use a **** barrow..
just buy a **** barrow they wont even want it for free when matey next door has a top of the range one 
FFS .... If your fishing a venue that this is a consideration

I normally keep 1 barrow handle in the brolly with me just in case just makes it harder for them to pinch the barra lol not as I fish any where I'd think any tea leafs where about but you Neva no and if they make of with a 1 handed barra I'm shire id here them and I can crack them with the handle in the brolly simples

I take the handle off and put under my bedchair and put it between myself and the lake so that I can see part of it whilst laying on the bedchair . Probably over the top as I've never had a problem .

Nor me just like traveling lite weight and make me have a better night sleep end of the day somebody roaming about after dark ain't up to no bud so they we'd get the barra handle then ask why they where there lol

I have a bike alarm on the barrow as I sometimes leave stuff under cover on it and would be gutted if I woke up and stuff was gone. Alarm was only £10 ish on eBay and works Great. Although it's never gone off in anger so I hope it works great.
I'm not going to lie but I feel a bit uneasy with this thread and the fact people have to even consider this whilst fishing. I personally don't use a barrow, but if it did, it like to think it would still be there in the morning when I woke up.
Haven't fished circuit waters for years now so maybe it's just me and I'm out of touch lol. For those that do have to consider this when they go out, well I feel for you guys.
Having said that a couple of places I've fished abroad that where a bit sketchy, but never really had any issues back home.

When your tackle is stored at your home in your shed, do you leave it unlocked? No, you would highten the security (alarm,cctv etc) Or as some people are saying 'find a new lake' do you buy a new house in a wealthy area where it'll be 'secure' to be left unlocked??
Not for everyone it will be feesable, so you still have to fish these lakes because they are cheaper to fish.
Also..no where is secure these days wether it be a mansion or a well known complex.
Do you not think it's best to be prepared for scumbags?

The best one I saw on a water near me,a bloke was packing up as I got to the lake.He got all his kit together,walked to the bivvy next door got the barrow loaded it up and ****ed off.I assumed they were friends fishing together,until the other guy woke up and went into a huge rage as his barrow had gone

Not theft but annoying, I remember mid 90's buying a Carp Porter from Hinders on the way to St Johns, got to my swim easier than I'd ever done with my brand spanking new barrow. Anyway some young lads behind me are struggling with their gear carrying it all round and ask to borrow it, I thought why not that was me last week. Anyway, they then proceeded to massively overload it, obviously it tipped at some point and tried to stop it and in the process bent one of the handles, not happy but live and learn, managed to bend it back and it lasted for years that thing
