I am ideally looking for a reel that is a little smaller than a 5500 shimano/Fox FX9 size reels .... (I think Daiwa 25a size is also similar). I already have Shimanio 4000 Exage and these a bit small so is there anything in between? .... I also already have 8000 size super baitrunners but are a bit heavy

I'd recommend Daiwa GS 4000's. Very nice little reels, for reasonable money.

Yeah I'd say these. I have SS2600 which I think are similar and they're ideal for shorter rods imo.

We don't have a set,but did buy a pair as a present for a friend,had them for a few days,played round with them,proper looked em over,tried to find a dislike and couldn't find any...

Really nice reels,I'd av em,no quibble at at all,..and very well priced too....(might even get a triple myself)...👍who knows...!!

I have some exages in 5000, I think they also do a 6000 - not easy to find the bigger ones but they do exist

What do you want them for and what sort of price range?

Okuma are bomb proof..... They do some cracking

i want them to go on a variety of rods inc 1.75lb & 2.25lb 11ft specimen/carp type rods and 10ft carp rods .... and something where the spare spools dont cost the earth ...

Your right,agree with you...if my titanos minis,weren't so good,good order I'd ave a set of those inception reels..

I'm a pin man,had,got,used very expensive centrepin reels,my fave reel by far is the Okuma Sheffield, awesome bearing reel..

Will never part with it..

I still have okuma interceptors on 6 spinning rods must have had them 20 years still as new but I do look after my gear.

Between the GS4000 and Inceptions at the moment

I've got the gs4000 as well on 9ft rods good reels so either of your choices will be fine

Was hoping for some discounts over the bank holiday but nothing materialising - Can anyone point me in direction of a good deal on the Okuma Inceptions (first choice) or Daiwa GS4000 .... will also consider second hand if anyone whats to part with theirs (looking for 3 .... must be excellent/mint condition)

If you don't mind going slightly smaller in the GS4000 reel size hull angling are doing the GS3000 size for £47.99 each or vale royale angling are doing 20% off

Ignore last couple of posts. Have just ordered a set of Inceptions

Thanks for the recommendations of the Inceptions ... Balance perfectly on a set of 2.25lb Chub 11' Smallwater rods

First impressions are good, . .... Though when compared to my Shimano Baitrunners and Fox FX9/FX11 they do feel a little lightweight (not a criticism as I wanted something lighter in weight) so not sure I would put on my heavier test curve rods , but that might be an unwarranted concern. In a world where most people moan about prices, it is amazing what can be bought nowadays for less than £50

yep, they are certainly pretty little reels

what are people's thoughts on the Okuma 6000 with a 9ft rod? I found the Emcast 25a too big and the SS2600 just right.
