Braids snapping when I'm spodding. It's snapping what seems to be from the power of the cast happened with both my spomb and marker float/lead set up and I'm also using a 50lb spod leader. Not sure why this is happening...

You need at least half a dozen turns of leader on the reel when you cast. 2m not enough

Pretty much bran new spomb rod. I put it down to maybe being a cheaper spod reel wychwood with preloaded braid

It might be as well. Cause its large using 50lb.
I use a 20lb braid with 30lb shockleader with a 5 turn water knot. I lauch my chirp pro+ as well as a spomb with no worries.

I'll give it a once over just to be sure.
I've had no problems chucking around the deeper but never really put any effort into it as I don't use it on larger waters. It's mainly launching the others that's caused the problems.

The 50 lb you're using is fine imo.
Edit: Sorry.... thought you were the OP. Any half decent braid around the 50 lb mark is fine mate.

I use a Wychwood spod reel at the moment and have done for a couple of years (with the pre loaded braid)
It's not that causing the snap, it's the short leader. As said below, you need a rod and a half and at least 4-5 turns of leader on the reel.
I use a back to back grinner knot with Korda Armokord, works well.
I recently changed the cheapo braid that came with the reel for Daiwa J Braid x8, gave me a few extra yards on the cast

You shouldn't need a leader with 50lb braid, I use 40lb braid straight through for a loaded medium spomb to 120yds no problem. if you want to go further use a 25ft 35-40lb shock leader with 20lb braid and you should still be fine.

As everyone else has said, you need to have a longer leader, I go with two rod lengths.
I connect this with an Albright knot, not sure it's the right one but it works for me personally.
I'm sure you probably already do, make sure the braid is wet through before any casting.
Depending on the strand content of your braid, this can make a big difference to crack offs.,

The Daiwa J Braid X8 is cheap too. I recently got 270m of 49lb X8 grand for about £15 from TFT, it's only 0.24 so there no need to use anything lighter IMO. It's nice and smooth too.

Follow the advice given and make sure the leader knot is at the bottom of the spool then the other 4/5 turns are going above the knot. Do this by hand if necessary before every cast. Also if casting into the wind launch it smoothly and low to avoid wind knot crack offs.

The daiwa j braid is good stuff, i used it last year in the 40lb version i still used it with a thicker leader but it is really good and casts very well with no wind knots

Thanks for all the advice. Just a waiting game now to try it.
I used the Avid markerbraid it's rated at 40lb as only took 1 rod so used it for spod and marker float. When spodding I had it snap a couple of times told a mate of mine he suggested looking on Tackle Box line guide page. Went on there website found the page it lists all the mono,s braids and flourish lines that has they have tested My avid braid that was labelled up 40lb under test snapped at 17lb !!! Daiwa sensor 10 lb went to 16 lb Worth a look

I don't wether its me but I always use 10lb sensor mono with a 50lb armacord leader about (25 ft) - the stress only comes on the cast with Spodding and i much prefer casting with mono rarely have any probs - use braid on the marker because of the transmission to the rod!
