if your struggling in the winter with butane gas not working due to freezing conditions its well worth keeping a silicon wrist band and a strip of copper roof flashing in your bag
It is the very best solution IMO it is explained and demonstrated in the video its very Simple !....

I have 6 Coleman 1lb bottles I refill and an adapter I can any stove on and of course a few petrol stoves

Be aware if you plan to refill the 1lb Coleman bottles that new ones need a mod to allow them to fill, Coleman must have caught on.

So long as you have the old one's Gerry you'll be alright. .
I had loads of the old ones as I have a coleman briefcase style double burner that worked off the 1lb bottles, when I first had it you could pick up 2x 1lb bottles up for a tenner from millets, it was a cracking bit of kit for two pots on the go at the same time and not overly large (bear in mind it was years before Fudgemonkey and their duel stove efforts), now your lucky if you can pick up 1 bottle for anywhere near a tenner otherwise I would still be using it.

The one in the link only paid about 30 quid for it when they first came out never knew there was an adapter for refilling them back then I used to recycle the bottles at the tip loads of them.
It looks like the newer bottles have changed but still a few of the older ones about might have to buy a couple of the old ones and keep them, do you have a link to the adapter please Gerry.

them however a mate of mine that lives too far away from me bought a refill adaptor on my recommendation and has had big problems then when Audioguy Paul mentioned you have to do a mod on the new bottles last night I jumped straight on the phone and asked him and sure enough he had just bought 2 new bottles !!!

I wonder if it's worth looking at a different manufacturer for the bottle.
Perhaps they haven't all put non return valves in theirs.
If it's the same as the larger ones, then there could well the same fitting on other small propane canisters.
I've never been involved in anything that small so you would need to check though.

I am not convinced !
as the one in the video has a white spot to line up to allow the air purge valve to work ? and if that wont work with our adaptor then it wont refill properly ?

On that subject I do know some people buy those long thin aerosol type gases you can get very cheap then use an adaptor to transfer them into the screw thread containers mainly people that dont like using the aerosol adaptor

NEVER EVER PUT PROPANE INTO A BUTANE CANISTER that can be very dangerous !
as a Butane gas Canister is only designed for the lower pressure of Butane
the pressure of 100% PROPANE GAS is 4 or 5 times greater than Butane OR butane propane mix
this makes the thin wall of a butane canister unreliable in some conditions if filled with Propane

Petrol stoves Colemans I got 2 x double burners 2 x single burners
Gas propane Coleman perfect flow single a Blackcat Heater

If anyone on here who likes and uses a Trangia,in either 25,27 or 28 mini formats,and maybe just burner ,trivet and trangia triangle...I have found a company who makes bespoke waxed bags for them,in either DPM,or Olive....
Its a local product made in Clay country,where those deep mysterious pools abound...!!!
Anyway checkout Kernow Bushcraft on eBay....
