I'm waiting to hear back from Garry at the minute. Got 3 of my reels with him. Sometimes he's slow getting back to people but his work is quality.

btw just to update people, I have been waiting 95 weeks for my 6 week turnaround reels and have had zero comms with Gary since November 2019. In this time I have had people confirm he has taken on work and they have spoken to him. Seems like he is ignoring me for whatever reason, however I am not alone, there is a number of others that are in the same situation as myself, all sent reels around a similar time too.

I have just had a Letter before claim delivered this morning to Gary as it's beyond a joke now and it seems like he's pretty much stolen a number of people's reels. Other's are doing the same with the letter before claim too.

I would advise anyone to avoid using him just in case you get yourselves in the same position a number of his customers are currently.

Surprises me this. I've used Garry a few times over the last 5-6 years and he's been nothing but faultless. Quick, reasonable and the work has been bang on. He serviced and replaced parts on a couple emblem spod reels late last year and he had them back within a week.

Surprised me too mate. I've used him before too. Not happy he's ignoring me yet still taking on work from others. I'm not the only one either.

I've spoken to him and there are some very sad circumstances with family health that have led to the recent delays. However sympathetic I am to them, the reels should have been done long before this year started, he's a nice guy but business is business after all.

He said he sent his reels in November, over 6 months is no excuse regardless of circumstances.

So reels are more important than family and health,I think some people need put things in some sort of perspective.Yes it's along time to wait and perhaps communication could have been better but do we know the full situation Garry was going through.Answer me this,if your wife was in hospital dying or going through treatment for cancer or a parent was.Would you be thinking I need to get home to sort Joe Bloggs reels out or would being at your wifes/parents bedside take priority. With everything that is going on in the world at the moment some of you need take a long hard look at yourselves and get a ****ing grip

Correct we don't know the full story or the situation he is in. Maybe to avoid all of this unnecessary speculation he could post on his Website or however he advertises that he is unable to service or except any more reels due to ?

I'm sure potential customers would be very understanding .

Not taking sides but not addressing negative press is bad for business.

1. He's had my reels since August 2018. 95 weeks for a quoted 6 week turnaround job. His situation arose this year. The fact remains that there has been plenty of time elapsed for the work to be completed before the start of 2020. When I last spoke to him in November 2019 I was at the end of my patience but a promise to have them completed just in to the new year was made. Then nothing. The letter was prompted by a number of other customers having the same issue and some people saying he's done work for them this year and spoken to him only a few weeks ago.

2. After he explained the situation I am understanding of it and have come to an agreement with him about it. If his comms were better, and I know it's last thing on his mind in the situation he is in, then I wouldn't have ended up sending the letter to him.

Considering you don't know the situation at all you might as well pipe down.

Garry is a good guy and would never steal anybody's reels, he's been working his nuts off for years and years to have the reputation of being the best. Throw that away for stealing some poxy reels he could buy or have sourced?!?! I don't think so.

Just to clarify I never accused him of stealing my reels. It was other disgruntled customers that accused him of that.

Especially seeing as other people have obviously had work done during that period, if he'd totally disappeared then maybe but selective deafness and the fact it was 95 weeks......

That is a ridiculous amount of time, I can't see how he's getting grief for complaining tbh, yeah it's bad timing with the health problems but he didn't know that.

I hope they're not nash reels, they would have bought out 3 new models in that time

Yes it's a long time to wait I agree but things need to be put into perspective. He could of asked for the reels back sooner and taken them somewhere else

I get that. But the family issues started this year. My reels have been with him since August 2018. That's a long time inbetween to do what was quoted as 6 weeks work.

Agreed, that's a ridiculous time to be without your reels, especially if he has taken on other work during that period.

Family Illness is the standard excuse used by liars, I've seen it loads of times. No idea of this guy's position, there may well be illness, but to do nothing for 2 years. Indefensible.

Because I had trust that he would carry out the work. I've used him previously and I know he's a good bloke. I had contact with him every two months almost with a reason Behind the delays and I went on the promise made to have them completed “in the next few weeks” which never happened. Then radio silence due to his circumstances. Not sure about you but I feel I was patient enough.

As it has been left after speaking to him yesterday the same promise was made, I did tell him in his situation that family comes first but it is just the reel knobs to fit according to Gary. It was this or him undo all the work already done and send them back. Which probably would take longer to do than finish them off tbh. Hopefully it will all be resolved and he will finish and send them back and I'll pay the bill.

I agree family come before anything but there was no harm in contacting him telling him he had problems and there would be a delay.

Garry did 2 lots of 3 reels for me recently. Excellent service and communication.

Sorry to hear of those having problems I'm sure it's just a blip.

Has anyone had any work done recently by Garry? I need some clips fitting and I've emailed him but I know he might take a few days to get back

I emailed him late last year and he didn't get back to me. Not sure if he's still going tbh. I'd used him for work half a dozen times before that and he always made contact within a couple days.

That's a shame. Anyone know if the Weston Developments clips are of the same standard?

I bought some Tournie spools second hand once which had small black clips (smaller than Garry's) that were very loose. Don't know who's clips they were or who fitted them but they were utter rubbish.

He replied this morning so clearly still in business. Sadly I've already arranged to have the clips done elsewhere. Based on my own dealings I can't recommend him highly enough, very knowledgable and even passionate about what he does.

Sounds like I will need to find a new servicing company, shame has his work has been spot on in the past and he was great with providing timelines.

I have emailed him and called him leaving a voicemail last week still no response.
