Hi guys,
I am trying to work out how you fit an isotope in a Korda Distance stick. It looks like the level plusg is supposed to come out and you drop it in but can't work out how you get the top plug out?
The only video I can see is Elliott Gray but his pushing the plug back in after his dropped the isotope in.
Driving me nuts lol

The hole Fluro end just unscrew s off and you drop the isotope in screw end and then screw back on. Simples.

Cheers, tried that and the isotope wouldn't fit in and didn't want to force it.

Screw the head off, there is a tiny hole just big enough to poke a baiting needle through. That will allow you to push the top off ( bubble level head) drop the isotope in, push the bubble cap back on. Job done 👍

Had the same issue tried every trick and broke a baiting needle or two. I ended up buying elite tackle replacement heads

Ahhhhh, lovely bubbly will try tomorrow. Tried with a wooden cocktail stick but it broke.

Can't believe that after people have paid a fortune for a couple of Korda sticks they break and you have to pay another fortune for new bits to go on top.
FFS they are only sticks to wrap your line around

I feel the same way about loads of tackle these days. I can't understand someone paying the thick end of a grand for a bivvy and wrap. I wonder what people must do for a living to be able to afford a set of custom basias. But I guess people must be buying stuff for the manufacturers to keep making it. I think I'm just getting old. I guess if I was in my 20s, living at home with my parents, loads of disposable income then what's a few hundred quid on fishing tackle? My sons wouldn't think anything of spending £60 on a computer game that they complete in a week. So I guess it's these people that don't bat an eyelid at £60 on fishing tackle.

I reckon people are thinking about these sticks in the wrong light.
I bought the Avid sticks first of all which were too big and curved so the line spills off them and can get you in a total mess especially at night and or when using flourocarbon.
Then bought the Avid shorter sticks...much better size wise but the same problems still there.
Then bought the Jag/Korda sticks...wow how much better are these, the problem with the line spilling off has now gone away due to the grooves cut into the sticks.
You can see them easily at night due to the isotope acrylic in the tips
If you use them properly...i,e use the supplied T bar and just push the stick into the ground using that and then if you need them deeper in the ground just gently rest the acrylic in the palm of your hand and turn the auger point in with the T bar....imo if you break the acrylic you need to be calming down a couple of notches.
The string with the brass loops and calibrations on it is top notch.
If you were to go out and buy 2 x Jag bank sticks they wouldn't be far short of the price of the distance sticks and these are a specific tool for a specific job.
As you can guess I really rate mine...if you think they are too expensive don't buy them simple as

I have them,I have never pushed them in by the top.I always use the bar but mine have cracked.Only thing I could put it down to was the sun.Im going get the elite tackle ones

I received some Korda distance sticks for Christmas and have been puzzling over how to insert isotopes.
I stumbled across your piece on this forum, luckily.
I was surprised how much pressure I had to exert on the underside of the spirit level to get them out, I felt sure they were going to break.
But it worked. Isotopes fitted, happy bunny.

I have the Avid sticks and added rubber o rings which do the same job as the grooves on the more expensive sticks saved me having to buy new sticks. I think the idea originally came from O.G. thanks.

I have the long Avid sticks and put some isotope tops on them use them as markers on boards etc most of the time, when I do count wraps I find the curve extremely useful making it easy to load and unload.

There is good reason to use them, I've been mapping out a large water that goes down to 53 feet areas that are rocky as hell and so pin point accuracy is the difference between camping and fishing not so divvy imo.

My wife bought me this for Christmas (last year) I would of never bought one personally but I have got to say it's brilliant . Makes setting up for self takes really easy

Just to add to the point raised about fitting isotopes to Korda distance sticks.
Korda advised me to use a baiting needle pushed up through the hole in the bottom of the plastic head to remove the spirit level.
There is no way a baiting needle would have moved it.
I had to resort to a very small Philips screw driver, pushed so hard I felt sure the plastic would break.
But, sure enough, after much pressure, they eventually came out.
Job done.
