Worth a mention got a great service from these boys. Tournies new line clips. 8 quid fitted cant go wrong, then the young man recommended re-spooling as I was going to buy 2 spools of korda carp line for 13 quid each. However he informed me that they have bulk spools of the 0.4. He spooled the reels up like a dream on their machine, awesome line lay, perfect minimal taper as requested . It worked out each tournie spool can take about 335m of 0.4, and cost me about 15 quid in total. Result. I was very pleased with the service , just thought it was worth a mention.

Yeah it's a great shop. Well stocked with cracking staff. Not the cheapest but I don't mind a few pennies more on an item to keep shops like this going.

I've used them and for me they are up there with the tackle box. When I can, I go to the tackle box, but not always possible with my shift work.
Where possible I only order from them

Just ordered and received my new power porter from them. All in 24hrs.
Usually use Eric's as they have always looked after me.
When I called them about the porter they thought I was mad and didn't know what it was which I thought was strange.
Anyways if Eric's is taken over by ad il use j Ross from now as always had a good service albeit a bit more pricey than some.

used it before, i think its good for the money plus they had it in bulk and saved me buying two spools. you just pay per metre

Always like j Ross myself, good shop good service.
The level of customer service they offer is very common place in many other industries. Just goes to show how behind a lot of other players are in the tackle trade.

Yep, another huge for JR....I unfortunately had to return a rod sleeve as it wont fit my custom rods and it was not a problem at all.
great shop, hopefully they stay forever independent and dont get swallowed up by the AD machine...

From me. Wanted some new rods but was a bit unsure between a couple and unable to test them in hand. Gent on the phone took some time to talk me through and then suggested which would be best with some good advice. Really positive and why it pays to have people who know what they're talking about.

Couldn't agree more, I've always had top customer service from them they always seen to have everything in stock and have been flexible with the price when i've seen things cheaper else where. I made a journey to them to purchase some new rods and they spent the time with me to go through the various options without trying to upsell. I've had items go missing in the mail which they have quickly sorted.

Thrre a long way from me but use there mail order for everything I need.saves me driving 10 odd miles to my nearest shop.then trying to find somewhere to park 5stars from me

I recently purchased new reels from JR and they offered to spool them up on there machine free of charge. Excellent service and allways have the products your after. Great deal of knowledge from the staff aswell... when all the other tackle shops are selling out to angling direct hopefully these will be around for a long time yet...

Same price as all the rest ime but the service s better. They will price match but that's more for larger items. The last time I ordered from the Tackle Box about 5 years ago. They took a week to get an item to me that I needed to go fishing and I dumped them after that. JR have always been spot on at getting items to me quickly.

Yes they are know doubt a good shop but they never have really given me a good deal on the larger items so normally shop elsewhere for kind of stuff.
My only issue with them is you have to pay postage on EVERYTHING!
This has put me off buying from them several times as there has always been an option online somewhere that will do post free.
Yes, I understand that they have to pay to post items... but £4 for postage on small items that fit in an envelope is ridiculous!

Tackle Box are the same. I use JR when I need something quickly. Look at it this way. How much would bit cost you to drive to the tackle shop? Lots of companies offer "free postage" but then charge more for their products so it's swings and roundabouts.

To be honest, I live less than 30 seconds from my local tackle shop, but I see what you're saying.
If I can afford to be waiting for mail order from JR, I can do the same off eBay but with free delivery.
