I am river fishing on the mighty Trent and as in all types of fishing location is key so I bought the Wychwood 50" compact so I could move around and some swims that are very small
and after seeing that my ELS bedchair just fits under it !

I thought if it started chucking it down or I want to stay all night a bit more protection may be needed so I have ordered a pair of these sides in OLIVE from the only people that seem to do them ?

they normally just do the full sides but as im a bit claustrophobic think this will be great for me

my Custom Carp Products 1/4 panels arrived
and I am VERY pleased with them this is for my river shelter I wanted to get something thats compact lighter and easier to move pics dont really do it justice this is a

Wychwood 50" compact Hd MHR brolly and the bed is the New 2019 Wychwood Compact that feels like my ELS to sit and sleep on pictures are of just side poles extended but in bad weather this can be lowered or at night

if you look on the bottom picture the brolly can be lowered a lot more and you can see the other pegging points on the wings giving a lot more coverage so complete protection from heavy rain the rain gutter on the front works really well too
and obviously if I put the front storm poles on in good weather it goes a lot higher too





(( EDIT just noticed in the bottom picture it looks like there isnt as much coverage on the head end of the bed this is an illusion as its the same both ends ))

Looks good mate

I just picked up an Aqua Fast & Light overwrap for £51 from TFT. Fits my 60” MHR like a glove. About an inch short on the back but perfect aside from that. I'd post a picture of it if I knew how

Looks great why they didn't make it with these panels on I don't know because it's a great brolly and they would have sold a lot more to people with bigger bedchairs how do I get some and price how do they attach?

great brolly, used mine for two years now, perfect, although my only gripe is that its quite a long brolly, but the built in pockets, storm poles etc outweigh this.

they attach with clips on the ribs and velcro round the side poles they also have 3 different pegging points

the cost was £50 plus postage and I think thats a bargain in either Camo or olive

That's the one, Gerry! They look spot on...

Had mine permanently stitched on and the brolly just folds up as it normally would.

The Custom Camo Carp products are great. Well priced, fantastic material & top notch service. Had a few of their sundry items such as the Deeper pouch etc and it is infinitely better than the supplied neoprene one.

no you want the mk2 my mate did 2 weeks in France with his
its got nice rear vents and its one of the most waterproof brollys made lots of room

what did you buy in the end ?

Army Andy did my 50” a while back and they're spot on. I'd imagine he'd be able to do a 60”.

I've been Looking for a 50 inch brolly since the summer - even 2nd hand they rarely come up.

This weekend I had the pleasure of seeing a fellow carper with the: Wychwood 50 inch compact HD MHR brolly!

All i can say is, well i was amazed!

The brolly is very well made, the material is 10,000mm hydrostatic head with ripstop material that looks like it will last for years!

OK, they are not available/stopped being made, *BUT* i reckon if enough folks email wychwood [info@wychwoodcarp.co.uk] asking for the return of their "50 inch brolly" there is a chance they come back after all aren't wychwoodin biz to make money?

I've just emailed them today, so guys get cracking with the email. cheers!

Whychwood, oh ,what have you done.. Best brolly ever for day carping,and course fishing..

SADLY ! they have now lost their way and their quality control has gone barmy Wychwood have gone from having the best reputation for making the best ever brollys to selling what I would describe as Wychwood Roulette Brollys as its definitely a gamble if you buy a Wychwood brolly if its going to leak or be a good one their reputation IMHO is now in tatters

interesting info.

i also saw there new wychwood tactical brolly back in the summer, i like it , only thing being is it looked very weak material wise.

i even asked the guy on the bank to sell me his "Wychwood 50" compact Hd MHR brolly " he told me to bugger off!
