Gonna be purchasing a new rod pod guys narrowed it down to these 2 just cant decide between them, any pros or cons to either ? I know the nano hasnt been out that long , how are people getting on with it?

Have heard great things about the Jag nano! I love my solar stainless but really for compactness and lightness you probably you can't go too wrong with this one.

Cheers for the reply, yea the Jag does look good and I know its lighter as the solar is stainless, weight isnt really an issue to be honest as the pod will be on the Barrow either way, the Jag 2+1 buzzbars could be the deal breaker though not fully decided yet still though.q

The nano is a great bit of kit. Small pack down, light weight, good for two or three rod set ups. Can be anchored in various ways depending on where you set it up. As you've said the 2+1 bars really make it.

They are both good pods I was in the same position the other week, I had a good look at both pods and ended up with the p1 low profile as it suited my style of fishing more. Plus I think it looks better and It's really versatile. The Only down side is the weight but that doesn't really bother me.

After years of using jag sticks and buzz bars and struggling on some very hard banks to get them in l was made up when the nano pod was released a really good pod and also got the 2+1 bars with most of my fishing been on smallish estate type lakes and many with a 2 rod limit this was it a great pod which suited both 2 and 3 rods, love it to bits, how ever l would of liked a couple more inches height wise on the rear bankstick to give abit more clearance on the reels from the main bar yes l know l could buy a jag bankstick abit longer but not sure it would look right and after spending nearly 400 don't think l should have too.

The reason it's that length is because it's the inner from a stage bite. The idea being that you can anchor it using the stagebite rather than screwing or pegging through the pod legs.
It's all interchangeable. Yes get your point mate, not knocking it at all worth every penny to me especially with the 2+1 buzz bars a decent pod which will suit 2 rods which l use 90% of the time

Really can't see how it doesn't twist.....unless there is something to stop it.

I use a Nano, bought off the back of Blankasorus's posts on it, there's a great pic on here somewhere using bank sticks as the uprights, bought a couple myself, all fits in the little handbag.
And no twist.

I actually don't think you need to do this, Id just use the thumb wheel hand tight and think that's plenty tight enough. But if you are paranoid about twist, the thumb wheel will take an Allen key so you can really crank it up tight against whatever upright you are using. But like I say I've never seen that done in a real world fishing situation.

The Allen key that you can see in the kit picture fits in the thumb wheel that you can see in the other picture. But like I say, I really don't think I'd ever feel the need to crank it up that tight. I've seen these being used for exactly what they were designed for. Hit and hold snag fishing and even with brutal takes ive never seen one twist.

Better still. How about a range of pegs that match the coloured levers/lock downs/ rod lockers.
Also just a quick note to anyone wanting to have a pod but who maybe already has a bit of pro light black. The centre pod bar is available on its own, then you can use your existing prolight short sticks as legs. Also if you already have stage bites then you can use these as the uprights. This way you can have a useable micro or nano pod for £89.99 by reusing your existing jag bank ware, instead of having to buy the kit for £231 if you don't need to. Obviously you can't peg through your sticks like you can the pod leg feet, but it does give you the option of having a pod for those odd occasions where you wish you had one, without a big addition spend if you already have jag kit.

I have just bought the longer centre piece off the micro pod to use with my nano when I'm using 12ft rods. the nano is really good for 6ft and my 10ft rods but just wanted a bit more length for the 12ft rods.

They have employed a lovely lad called Tom to handle all of their media, promotions, social media etc. He's really good on getting answers for people and making sure the right people get to see emailed questions etc.
I'm sure if your peg idea is a good one then the right person will see it. Normally Iris the tea lady gets to make those sorts of decisions. But you need to catch her on a good day cos she's murder if people don't wash their mugs up.

Looks naff, sorry that was horrible of me to say that. The pod is compact and probably better made than the Solar pod however The solar pod is the most versatile pods around if only it was made in titanium and the machining was improved.

Decent pegs already available very much doubt your ideas could be better. My titanium pegs makes
Keith's look heavy over priced not what I want to say I'm sorry Keith. They do look military grade a little out of my price bracket although I'm sure he isn't over charging for them.

I agree with Robbie. It's not often you would use every single peg supplied with your bivvy when you set it up. So just use a couple of the spares you have with you anyway. Can't see why you'd carry specific pod pegs, unless of course those pod pegs happened to have Mini excavator points on them. Hmmmmmmm

If you just use a couple of thin wire pegs to hold down a pod then the weight is minimal anyway. If your talking about a full set of proper bivvy pegs then that's a different matter. Even so were going fishing not climbing Everest the hard way.

Im sure they are an aluminium alloy, ive used them for years they are surprisingly strong and light weighing 44g each, they wont be anywhere near as strong as same thickness pegs made from titanium
