I have an earlier 12v version, had it over 2 years now great bit of kit.

Out of interest was it because it is cheaper you chose TSM over Prestige or do you know something else about the TSM?

I wasn't clear but I was replying to the extra £250 Prestige version. I think we anglers get tunnel vision at times, £800 for a barrow we still have to hold up, I'd be expecting 4 wheels and a seat for that

Actually being in possession of the Prestige version and comparing it with what I can make out in the pics on the TSM Facebook page I'd say the complete opposite was true, time will tell I suppose

Ive just bought a Power porter for £720 via total fishing
Only used it twice but should have got one ages ago
Longevity I have no idea about but so far all good

Thanks josh, im another one thats not getting any younger and getting loads of aches and pains, minor surgeries etc so i think im going to look at the idea of a powered porter.
I liked the idea of the tsm as my nash barrow has been spot on and looks like it will go on for a while yet, it does seem better built than than the carp porters i have had in the past, but if tsm are hard to get hold of then maybe its not the best idea.

I was interested in buying one and wanted to see one before parting with the cash. I just couldn't get them to agree for me to visit so went with a porter.

I'm sure you are right about his set up, pretty sure he makes to order, when I bought mine we exchanged texts/messages can't remember which as he wanted to set it up ready for my barrow and I had to give him some measurements and I was a bit undecided on which wheel to go for.
The whole process was very smooth, he kept to agreed timescales and I was over the moon with the finished product.

What happens if you have a problem with it, do you leave it at a pre-arranged drop off point in the woods and await further instructions?

I looked at a power porter last night that was only a few months old. I get the impression that the power part of the barrow is well made but the barrow itself isn't. They guy had actually taped sections to stop the paint coming off. I've owned a few prestige barrows and they really don't compare to other models for build quality. The avid and trakker barrows I have had since are far more robust.
I've looked at the tsm one myself but even though I agree it looks better built I wasn't a fan of the control mechanism.
Has there been anymore news on the Nash version?

I was told in a tackle shop that Nash are doing some sort of breakdown cover for it. I wonder if it will be like the rac? Imagine Alan Blair, charlied up to the eyeballs, dashing round the country all night in a bright orange van fixing barrows.

The front of mine is a bit scratched where it sits against the metal grill bulkhead in the van. I just stuck an old towel up to try and stop it getting any worse. To be fair though the paint on the front/sidebars is purely cosmetic and as it is alloy underneath (like the originals were anyway) it isn't going to rust. Depends on how precious you are about stuff like that i suppose.

Has anyone ever got a response from the guy at TSM? I like the look of the conversion he does, but he hasn't responded to my message on FB or my mates message to him on Instagram. Therefore it doesn't really seem a viable route?
I have an older Prestige MK4S with the Reynolds tubing, which at that time Prestige were still manufacturing in the UK. I'd like to keep my current barrow if poss as it just seems better built than the current crop. Prestige do not seem to be doing the front wheel conversions now.
Are there any other alternatives?

Should be ok Gerry because the load should be spread evenly. First time I loaded up my power porter, I loaded it up ‘normally' with the bulk of the weight over the front wheel and got 20 yards before it toppled over, went over 3 times on way to my swim and thought it might of been dodgy barrow or something
Quick search around when I got to the swim and found out that the load should be spread more evenly so powering the back wheels should work ok

The 24v one he was looking at doing was £550 I think
I was going to get one but also wanted a new barrow also so by the time you add it all up I just decided to get the 24v power porter and be done with it. Not had any real issues so far, charger was faulty so contacted them and sent it back and got a sent brand new charger no questions asked even though it was out of warranty

I normally spread the load across the barrow so I can't see there being a problem with wheel spin.
The batteries will be located near the back wheels so they should add a little bit more weight to aid traction.

I made the same mistake
I Looked a right dick .... Out the back of the van, with all my gear on it
went 20yards and toppled over
Googled a few things and found out the load needed to be spread about rather then front wheels
Also keep heavy stuff in the under bag
Best thing I've ever bought if honest

I looked into that option too. Contacted Roy Charles and had a chat with him.

Seems a really decent bloke that has given it lots of thought. He said he wasn't making any at the moment though as he'd suffered an injury, but will be back on them in say 6 months time. I thought about the principle though and reckon having a powered front wheel would be better than rear wheels. I think having powered rear wheels will probably make it more difficult to steer?

Replied mine currently folding and not heard anything from them since. Hopefully that means they will still produce some form of conversion. I can see it would be easier with push-on, but I'm sure I could change the connection of the forks anyway. Hopefully they will come back with something.

id also be interested to hear about this, last year i looked at them for my nash barrow but what put me off was the lack of recent feedback on their facebook page and negative comments about recent orders with long delays etc and poor comunication.

Sounds like he has had some sort of health issues.
Got a reply out of the blue stating that he will be back up and running mid July.
