I too would be very interested in some answers to your question. I just can't justify two hundred quid on a Techlite. It's got both Fortis and carp tax on it.
Used Snugpak in my days in field and they make fantastic bags at very reasonable prices. They could have developed their carp market a lot better without a third party I think. We could all have all benifeted greatly from great bags at great prices. I still live in hope that one day they will produce bags for us.

I have the 4 and 7 wychwood Morpheus bags didn't need the 7 this year the 4 is rated down to -5. I use a very light bag for this time of year else it would be the 4 all year round. Probably the best 4 season bag around.

Trakker AS 365 or the Fox VRS are the ones I am currently considering.
I have always used Snugpak bags but as I get older I find getting out of them a bit of a challenge! So, something with a longer side zip and actually strapped to the bedchair makes sense.
Both bags seem to get very very good reviews indeed.

Got A Ventec and a Big Z. The Big Z was a good bag, but I have had the odd "chilly" night in the depths of winter when I've had to zip the doors up.
The ventec however is the coplete opposite. If anything it is too warm, have woken up some nights as my feet were burning where I hadnt taken my socks off
Very rare I do the zip up. It's also too hot for summer weather when you take the inner bag out.

I used the inner bag on my ventec once, never again!
Too warm, I gave it to a charity shop ages ago and the bag went the charity shop a couple of months ago.

I can only comment on what suits me and that is the Tracker Big Snooze wide , ,i use it 12 months a year and if the weather is around freezing ill have the Tracker thermal cover over the top.
I can honestly say i have never been cold in this bag
Around £60 for the bag , not sure on the cover , but you can generaaly get a combo deal.

I've been using a Tennier Industries four piece ECWCS for the last 18 months... Absolutely superb... Not the cheapest with import tax from America but well worth it... Depending how tall you are then upto just shy of 6ft the standard length fits fine - I'm 6'2” and was lucky enough to find a “long” one which I'd guess will fit anyone upto 7ft tall, haha. Knocks spots off fishing bags, I don't own any item of this nature manufactured by a fishing company, just as I wouldn't by a rod or reel made by a specialist outdoor firm... 😉

The latest version of the Trakker AS365 is spot on in my opinion, there was a well documented (on here) issue with the previous version where the top section was not long enough so you got cold shoulders. This has been rectified on the latest version plus the material has been upgraded.

For winter I use an old British Army Artic sleeping bag, never been cold in it.

The new gardner carp duvet compact looks a nice piece of kit.I love my techlite though so warm for the weight of it

I know someone selling one but not sure he would post it and he has only slept in it one night and not even in the main part of the bag.He slept between the top part and main bag and then said he didnt like how it felt when moved about each to there own i guess.Its the dpm version think he wants 150 for it if of any interest to you

Not sure if the mki had any baffles. But I can confirm that the mkii has neck-zip baffles. And has no central fixing strap. Also the top cover does not have a crash zip, so you can't jump under the top layer and zip up.
You have to remove the top layer if your too warm. This bag retails at probably £100 more than it's rivals. If your barrowing your gear about, that's a lot of money for a kilo you'd never notice. Personally.

For a bag so warm the weight to warmth ratio is amazing 3kg all in.What do some of these bags weigh like the fox or trakker 365 im sure more than 4kg and if you are barrowing your gear as far as i have to then any saving in weight is worth the money

You wanna get down the gym
I'm not dissing the bag it's great. I just wouldn't say it's as good as my Pertex. At 4.2kg if I rated it on all attributes. ie weight warmth cost etc. I'd probably be more interested in Gardner's compact quilt if it was a available then.

I already have Trakker Armotexx bag and Big Z (amongst others) .... The Armotexx weighs about 4kg .... Its a good point you make about saving just the one kilo to buy a Techlite

I've got a morpheus 7, Gardner duvet compact and a ventec lite.
I doubt I'll use the ventec again, as the duvet is perfect for 90% of the year. I'll only get the morpheus out when it's sub zero

The 365 Trakker bag is decent imo. The only two gripes I have are it's quite heavy and it's not full length. You can get a drafty back in the depths of winter. I normally sort that with a cover though. It's going strong with no tears after 3 years of use.

I have the original Trakker 365. Must be over 10 years old now and still going.
I use it with a compact bed which is far from ideal though.
I just don't seam to be able to find a decent compact sleeping bag with enough material to move around in. Hence still using the 365.
I tried the compact big snooze and that just pinned me to the bed. Awful bag.

Have the tracker 365 box thingy, great bag for all year use
I have a snugpak techlite and found it needed something underneath it
as it felt a bit colder on my back hence the Helium 3.8 Sleeping Mat this transformed the warmth of the bag and as a bonus the comfort level increased
its now a great all seasons bag I do use a bedchair cover though to cover the unzipped bag as Im Claustrophobic and cant have either the bag or door shut

I use an open fronted V1 Tempest brolly pretty much all year round unless it's really bad and then the wrap goes on. I too can't do closed doors either. It's an age thing lol.
Hence the reason for the 365 bag. Ticks all the boxes for an open fronted shelter. It's just too big for my compact bedchair, but I live with it till I find a better bag.
I know I should take a look at the Snugpak but I just flinch at the price. Perhaps I will bite the bullet and have a look.

Have a look on England angling bud, I picked up my standard snugpak bag for £180 with them and im sure parkfield angling were quoting me roughly the same price.

The bag I used for many years is the Tracker Big Snooze wide , excellent for Spring ,Summer < Autumn and general most or the winter , but if it does look like its gong to be really cold I put the Tracker Thermal cover over the top , Toastie toastie then
