In reply to Post #1152 I think it was the final straw
As a representative of the BBC he should not be commentating on Gaza and other political stuff all the time. The BBC is 'supposed' to be impartial
Ok let's give him the benefit of doubt and say he is being honest, it was a genuine mistake.
But the fact is the mistake was made because he couldn't keep his gob shut.
Still once he's gone he can say what he likes.

In reply to Post #1149 Good find that , clears up my question about a goalie going up for a corner.
As for a goalkeeper accidentally slipping/stumbling, then as he had the ball in his hands inside the box then in my opinion this rule should apply and no more.
'A handball outside the penalty area is always penalized with a direct free kick'
In the Henderson case if there were no VAR then the handball would've not been noticed
But there was VAR so it's subjective, was there an obvious goal scoring situation?
My opinion is I'm unsure, so I give the benefit of doubt and say no.

In reply to Post #1146 Here are the rules:
A goalkeeper committing a handball outside their penalty area results in a direct free kick for the opposing team. If the handball denies a clear goal-scoring opportunity, the goalkeeper may also receive a yellow card, and potentially a red card if the opportunity is deemed obvious.
Key Points:
Direct Free Kick:
A handball outside the penalty area is always penalized with a direct free kick.
Yellow/Red Card:
The goalkeeper may also receive a caution or a red card if the handball denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
Same Restrictions as Outfield Players:
Outside the penalty area, a goalkeeper is subject to the same handball rules as any other player.
Penalty Area Definition:
The penalty area is defined by the line, and if any part of the ball is over the line, it is considered inside the penalty area, allowing the goalkeeper to use their hands.
VAR Intervention:
VAR can intervene if the handball outside the area denies a clear goal-scoring opportunity, potentially leading to a red card.
VAR intervention is was stopped Henderson being sent off IMO.
And as for the keeper going up for a corner and handles it, well he's obviously not Allison and is classed as an outfield player, so it would be handball. i.e. Same Restrictions as Outfield Players
Lineker ? Meeh
