Well, I'm in the World cup sweep at work, £10 per team. I won a recent football one and took nearly £300
The bad news is i wont be winning this ****er, told me there were still some good teams in it, thought i would have a tenner, first out of the bag, Iraq
Spain and a few others still in there, greed takes over, confidence is quite high, second out, Congo ffs. Um ****ing bongo

Well I watched Netherlands v Algeria last night, cracking goal by A in the dying minutes to win.
Malen, 4 sitters missed and several 2nd touches not required when he could have shot, even Weghorst would have done better with more time!
I know it was only a friendly but in the opening minutes the Dutch looked so disjointed, a better team would've ripped them apart.
Hopefully not a sign of things to come (as usual) a bets been placed, good odds and you never know, a easy ish run in Japan, Sweden, Tunisia.
See Man U have have signed a defensive midfielder Ederson from Atalanta and another I can't rem.
Edit? Man City threaten legal action....the irony

In reply to Post #1607 So that's where you've been getting your bias from.
That law is already in place. it's called the West Ham Law it was last used when 3 different Spammers restricted Raya. Without it the PL run in may have been different

In reply to Post #1601 How come Skelly was still on the pitch after giving away the penalty?
Because it was Mosquera that gave away the penalty maybe?

In reply to Post #1601 I thought that might spring your confirmation bias into action.

Been away last week, so doing abit of catch-up here.
UCL Final.
As stated the worse thing that happened was Arsenal scoring early. Contemplated turning it off there and then as I knew the game was going to be killed as Arsenal would then just play not to lose, time waste etc. Took three people to take a throw in (and well over a minute) and then taking as much time as possible to take the corner , then look hard done by when the ref had enough and blew for half-time. Something the refs will look into next season. A rule coming in for the World Cup where they have 5 seconds to take throw in etc, along with no Goalkeeper tactical timeouts (Raya with his cramp for example, how does a keeper get cramp?).
You can look all that up. LINKY POO™ https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c9v39x2v8yxo
If Saka’s basketball dribble wasn’t a penalty then the “foul” on Maduke wasn’t either (neither were pen’s for me btw), the fact Mendy got his arm in front of Maduke probably saved him there.
IMO, Football won on Saturday.
Liverpool/Slot.
It had to happen. The football being displayed was awful. Massive disconnection from the fans by the end of the season. The fact there were teams worse than us got us into the Champions League place and even then, that was because English teams got 5 slots.
No Liverpool manager should lose 20 games in a season.
The only people I’ve seen saying it was the wrong decision have been fans of other clubs. A bit like Liverpool fans saying Man Utd should never had got rid of Solskjaer/Ten Haag/Amorim.
Would it have been different if say he had last season’s performances in his first season and then won the league in his second? Of course but, we became too easy to play against.
It’s a tough job whoever comes in. Lot's of work to be done throughout the club.
All my personal opinion of course.

In reply to Post #1600 Penalty? Nonsense. The foul was on the PSG player. Your goal came from a free kick as a result of a Saka dive. First 8 minutes 3 dives from Arsenal, Tossard, Saka and Skelly. How come Skelly was still on the pitch after giving away the penalty? Should have had a second yellow. Yet another example of Arsenal's immunity from red cards.

In reply to Post #1599 I'm not saying it's a good tactic but the goal conceded was from a penalty rather from open play.
We should've had one ourselves but at the end of the day we shouldn't rely on refs to be consistent.
I don't think it put off people attending the Arsenal parade. Reported to be the biggest in UK sporting history.
Not to be outdone PSG celebrated in the their own way in Paris

In reply to Post #1597 The worst thing that early Havertz goal, how can any team think they can defend 1 goal for that long....never going to happen. I almost said Arsenal played well but PSG were average at best but no doubt they'll be tammed down our throats as one of the greatest.
Fergies not been so kind about Arsenal when congratulating PSGs owners

In reply to Post #1597 Really pisses me off when the European sides get a penalty ffs, they play for them
To be fair they were the best footballing side but the Gunners did a solid job, could have gone either way that, obviously I wanted the English club
