FishOn Joe finally posted everything he caught on that two night session just before Christmas. Incredibly, in 48 hours, he caught the biggest mirror in the lake, and three of the other most wanted.

No wonder he called it his session of a lifetime. Well done Joe, great angling. A mid 40 & three 30's.

"As the night drew on the storm got worse and worse, absolutely biblical conditions, after chatting with a few mates buzzing about my captures we all agreed I was due one of the lakes big girls. Well a few hours later a slow pull up on the hanger had me scrambling out of my brolly in the storms full force, picking up the rod the fish took me out into the middle of the lake, busting me on a tight clutch, stripping braid so fast when cupping the spool I could feel the heat coming off it!
At first I thought it may be a smaller fish covered in weed but as I drew it close I saw a huge dorsal flick up in the moonlight, straight in the net she went, the lakes big mirror Sparkie's Sister a true Essex relic."

44lb, GPB1 13mm balanced over the shops particle and crumbed Krill.

Quote... Is it just the camera angle, or has that fish got an unusual shaped mouth?

I have only seen that one photo of Will's fish. But I would say that you are correct and it has an unusual shaped mouth. I caught a carp from Roach which is the neighbouring pit. Spitting distance away from Rockford. It had the same shaped mouth and puffy cheeks. Roland (NemesisWitch) would know far better than me, but I would say that they are from the exact same stocking, likely brothers or sisters. Back from when the same angling club controlled both Rockford & Roach Pit.

This one in Roach had the same mouth. It's mouth was pristine, but a very strange shape. This fish was an S2 addict. I had it four times in eighteen months. This was the third time I caught it, on an S2, I caught it once on a F1 too.

Wow 2nd night!! Impressive! I blanked for a whole year on there lol. (17 sessions) I don't live close enough to really get a feel for the lake (That's the excuse I gave myself) I didn't see a single fish get banked in that time either and one of the bailiffs I was chatting to was on his 47th night without a fish (which made me feel better) definitely not an easy water, so bloomin well done!

Nice to see that one. That's an old original, stocked around 1990. Probably 35 years old. Proper carp!

Will, 2nd ever night on Rockford last night. His first night was 20 years ago when he did not have our hook baits. Well done mate.

I did not realise yesterday when I posted this.

This 42lber was Wade's new PB. He's not fished all summer, he got married to a beautiful young woman earlier in the year. That was his first trip out in donkeys because of it.

A Christmas PB. Seriously, well done Wade!

Steve the fireman below only done 27 nights all year. Work and a young family.

3 x 40's, with two personal bests among what he caught from a competitive syndicate in Berkshire... Fished by household names, and anglers with far more time than he could ever dream of. Don't matter with a bit of good angling and a tub of S2.

We often get asked by new customers, why our white or pink S2 are a bit 'dull' coloured inside the tub. This photograph below, is something none of you have ever seen before. These pink hook baits below, are all at various points of the curing process this morning. The first row of trays up from the fan, the darkest ones, are finished pink S2, drying after their final go. The second and third row of trays up from the fan are finished pink F1. The tray under the step that is by far the brightest colour, are pinks that have not gone through any process yet. They have just been boiled.

That is what colour your hook baits really are. This is what colour they will be after a couple of hours in the water. Our curing process leaves a stain on the outside of the baits. This gives the white & the pink S2 a dull colouration inside the tub. Everything drying on these trays is exactly the same colour in reality. It's only the stain on the outside from the curing process that changes this. This stain washes off to reveal the true colour.

You're very welcome. All orders from our final two deliveries before Christmas had at least one tub of freebies added. We gave away more than £2400 worth of free hook baits as Christmas presents before Xmas.

The lovely traders at Ladbrokes paid, you should really thank them. As people on my personal social media know, I had nine Ladbrokes accounts (among others) in extended family members names closed/heavily restricted at the same time in early November. They don't know how much I won though. I actually won a pretty life changing sum of cash over a six week period from those nine accounts. Mainly when I was laid up for a month virtually dying from Covid. I should try dying of Covid more often
