my house move to gloucestershire is now complete, and joined here for a bit of help in regards to waters in the area which won't be easy....
I'm not interested in day tickets, only a season ticket, i've looked at SCAC waters, however its not my cup of tea, rammed plus its common knowledge that a good percentage that fish there all have in common is a serious lack of angling etiquette!
so i'll probably go with horseshoe lake, my questions are if anyone is currently fishing horseshoe....
they had an oxygen crash last october, water was closed, since its opened i don't see much in the way of fish capturer pics on their FB page, i've kept an eye on there FB page for over a year, b4 the oxygen crash, there was regular pics, they even used to do a monthly YT video update, but no more...anyway my question is, has the water recovered?
cos of the summer heat wave, whats the (summer bay) water levels like?
and finally does the lake have the dreaded crayfish? TIA!🎣

Not answering your question but I have a friend that fishes that neck of the woods, mainly whitefriars on the SC ticket. I joined him for a night and it was rammed, nearly every swim taken!
We did a tour of a load of other waters the following day.
Neigh bridge, lake 32 and the one just North of it with the inflatables on and one across the road Cokes pit (lake 34)
Might be worth a look at those?

you saying whitefriars rammed really surprised me, was that recently? ..a mate fished it 5 years ago, and gave up after 30 blank nights, he saw guys there give up after 1 weekend session😂.. i remember him telling me of a chap on there on the dole, did 5 nights a week for 2 years (aprox 350 nights) no carp all he caught was 1 small tench!!!😱
the other waters you mention are on the AKAC ticket, they are no longer taking members.
i have read about horseshoe lake on another forum, mixed reviews 1 guy hated it there, but no recent info.. i'm now also looking at Horcott Lakes, as they will have a winter ticket soon, then you are guaranteed a place for the full season ticket next year.

It was around 6/7yrs ago. It was a bank holiday weekend but nearly every swim was taken. Maybe just a busy period. Defo a rock hard pit that’s for sure!
May be worth getting your name down on a waiting list. All of those lakes are lovely!

The AKAC/Cotswold Water Trust have an email to join the waiting list I thought? May be old but I’m sure my friend told me it’s on the website.

You need to email to get your name in the ballot that they hold at the start of each season for any available places. Been trying to get back on for 6 years now...

I contacted AKAC last spring and was told waiting list is full, tbh not really bothered about there waters, just like some latest info on horseshoe lake..👍
