Lol. That's you. You've replied to my posts though they wereny for you. It's a thread about MPG and people are talking about fuel saving.
And all you are doing as ever is arguing about some strong opinion you have. A few references about how knowledgeable you are. The obligatory reference to other knowledgeable people that you know, that all agree with your FACTS.
Other than bigging yourself up and misunderstanding posts
The only clear thing you've said is that an engine can coke up if a car is driven the way it wasnt designed to. Well no **** Sherlock.
Doing.anything TOO much or TOO little runs risks
That's what the TOO means.
However at no point did I advise anyone doing anything TOO much. FACT lol.
Of course, being disagreed with immediately upsets you
So you start acting.childish and inferring that I'm stupid.
I've kept out of your way for 10 years mate and had no plans to engage with you.You jumped on my reply to someone else.
I ask again. If you feel that way just leave me alone.
I

Probably a wise decision at this time.
I believe it might be a bit more expensive per mile (you might be able to confirm that if you've done some research) but also a lot of hydrogen seems to be made from fossil fuels rather than renewables at present.
Cost and lack of investment again?
One big problem is that Hydrogen production and transport is relatively inefficient compared to electricity at present but perhaps that and the infrastructure will improve over the next decade if it gets used by the haulage industry.

Well what do you expect? I said very early on that your "advice" could well be counterproductive, and sorry if I feel I should speak up against piss poor advice, then I will. You argued and keep saying it's my opinion when it's not. It's fact. why do you think it's even taught at college for technicians qualifications? You're a driving instructor. Big deal. Anyone with a driving licence and a couple of years experience can do that. You don't think a pilot knows how to fit a new engine in his 747 do you? It's people with the correct training that do . You're potentially costing people a lot of money with questionable advice. If you did a few tests with different driving styles you'd be very surprised to see the mpg results. That I garauntee you. Next to nothing in it. Plus by the sound of it you drive like miss daisy, in this day and age that causes frustration in other drivers which I'm sure you will agree can easily be the cause of an accident (frustration that is,as you obviously won't criticise your driving style).
Yes your advice may well save a tiny amount of fuel. But look at the bigger picture and it can cost far more than that miniscule saving in repair bills.
I'm not bigging myself up at all, just saying that I have had the relevant training to comment about this with knowledge. You ask an electrician about electrical issues, a plumber about plumbing issues ,a roofer about roofing issues etc etc. So why would you rubbish what a fully qualified technician says about motor vehicle engines? And with all due respect you were the one who started with the stupid talk saying I don't know the difference between fact and opinion. And rubbishing what I know to be fact. You have been insinuating I'm stupid , you know that as well as I do. So if you want me to not reply to you, stop with the patronising nonsense.
Btw this is an open forum. People post . If you want to say something to someone on here without the possibility of a reply from elsewhere then use the pm system . It's what it's there for.

And to you too
And to you too
Well most of my driving is well below 3000rpm and I have no issues with my dpf...
That is in 6th though
I don't understand rushing then slowing down for corners either..
Go round the corners faster and drive in the highest gear you can to keep the revs down. Occasionally ragging the **** out of it at junctions and slip roads.
My fuel economy on average, alas, is terrible

The way Sundance has advocated and teaches people to drive is the way advanced drivers and motorcyclists are taught and that is FACT as I've done both and had instruction from a police motorcycle rider. Nowhere has he advocated labouring the engine which can cause problems, he has said using the right gear etc. Correct road positioning allows better veiw of what's ahead and allows the driver/rider to respond accordingly. Making good progress is a term off ten used by police instructors and that doesn't mean revving the nuts out of an engine, going at silly speed, slamming brakes etc. Quick is smooth progressive driving/riding and road positioning is vital.

Have a day off mate. You had an nvq in mechanics in the 80s. Prob worth the same as my home economics in school. Everything you've backed it up with is “people still in the trade”. So your clearly not still in the trade.... Fact
Bit like when people ask what fishing van to get? I say get a berlingo, you say don't get a berlingo cause during the war I used to be a mechanic. Guess what. That berlingo you advise me not to get has never missed a beat
So maybe sometimes your FACT is not FACT.... FACT

Im agreeing with all of that mate. Having ridden bikes before driving I'm aware of reading the road. I'm saying build up and maintain your speed in a gear which provides the lowest revs to save fuel, but my impatience means I usually negate that by building speed up too quickly and wasting fuel.

Hydrogen is around £50 for 200 miles, average price of kw/h is 21-28p per hour.
for me to get a full charge from 0-100% takes 18 hrs based on a 3 pin plug and gives me 260 miles. I use a 2.6kwh charger.
Costs me £13 to fill the tank.

Good info there. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely looks like you have made the right choice.
Perhaps hydrogen will become more viable in the future.

What happened to the hydrogen revolution. I remember about 10 years ago we had hydrogen buses in London.
What stalled/stopped it?
