Those little guns are for 280ml caulk tubes. This photo should help for size comparisons.
Because of the higher torque, plastic tubes and collars really are not the one either.

Ah right I see what you mean now
So realistically speaking to make them work you would need to source at 280ml aluminium caulk tube.
For comparison how big are the tubes on yours and how much base mix do they hold?

I finally managed to blow the plastic gardner cap up...
I've been managing just fine with it doing full mixes but I did a 2 egger for hard hookers and turned the power up to push the plunger up to the paste sausage quicker, and mustn't have turned it back down far enough
I have ordered a new one as I like the option of using the small gardner nozzles when doing small mixes.

I should've bought 1 of the guns M linked when he did, regretting that now. I spent some time looking for a alternative last night, couldn't find any cheaper ones.I did find some smaller air/compressor powered ones (sub 500ml) by accident then remembered I have a small compressor from my brewing days but I'm not sure the pressures add up.
Some of the extrusion rates I was reading on the cordless ones were very low too, unless mistake, 53cm/min/max..that can't be right.

Apologies for bringing up an old thread.....
Is it the gardner deluxe gun collar and nozzle holder that you need to be able to use the correct size nozzles for rolling bait?
I've just been using a cut down witches hat as I've been using sausage / barrells. Now I want to roll round baits and I know I can't get my witches nozzle cut at exactly the correct diameter to roll round baits....

You really need to use the witches hat nozzles.
If you use the gardner insert part so you can use the gardner nozzles then you will blow them apart.

Cut them down to size. Always cut less than you think, as so easy to screw it up.
Get the nozzle right for barrels, then you can SLOWLY trim back or use sand paper to get them right for round boilies.
If you get nozzles that are pre-marked then just ignore the marks, once cut you can't undo it.

How long did the Gardner attachments last before they blew up? I only probably roll about 30kg a year so I'm thinking they might last??? Although my mix is pretty stiff with lots of seed and egg shell in it 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

The gardner insert blew, bought another and that also went. Nothing to do with how old it is or how much its been used. The plastic just isn't up to the pressure from the gun.
I have bought another and will just use on my hand gun with pop up and wafter mixes.
The gun pressure will easily push a stiff mix, but then it will also pop the top off the gardner insert.
Just use the witches hats...

No need to make things more difficult for yourself by trying to extrude an unnecessarily stiff mix. Just get more liquid in there, whether that be liquid egg, food or even just water. Any of this extra moisture can then be removed via air drying should you wish.

Air drying a wet mix will harden it, but once in the water it will soon soften.
A proper stiff mix (with alb, whey gel, wpc) will retain its integrity longer and be more resistant to small silver attack.

Why would any mix with alb, whey gel or wpc have to be proper stiff ? It's all down to the moisture content. I've used all three ingredients for years in perfectly extrudable mixes. If the OP 's mix mix is lacking any of these ingredients, then yeah the baits will be softer. But over decades of using homemade baits, even " soft ones ", I've never actually had silvers whittle down baits. In fact, many bait companies now extol the virtues of softer baits with the premise that its more digestible. My opinion is that it just saves them money on ingredients 😂

You've obviously never fished anywhere with a serious head of silvers then. They will absolutely hammer baits. The lake I fish for catfish at the moment has a huge roach population and they whittle boilies down easily
