Pity they didn't work that out in 2014 and do something to future proof the UK from the damages of relying on globally traded commodities to keep the lights on. Whilst now 🔥 through everyone's money.

They're to blame for their inactivity in addressing the cost of living crisis, food and fuel poverty, national unrest in terms of pay inequalities.... not to mention voting to allow water companies to destroy beaches and rivers.
Not much to ask for them to do their job to 'earn' their wages and considerable pay rise and to justify the expenses that you and I contribute to ....
I'm not ok with it.

We all knew fossil fuels were limited but very few understood that Russia has had Europe by the balls with its gas reserves for years...
And I do worry that this reliance on fossil fuels worldwide will sadly lead to the war of wars.

David Cameron's decision to cut support for home efficiency / insulation initiatives in 2013 is just another example that clearly demonstrates that he was so abjectly woeful as PM, to the detriment of us all.
Looking back to late last year, those Insulate Britian protests that everyone moaned about don't look so daft now, do they?
Next year we're going to be paying more on energy bills than we are for the NHS.
We're a failing nation - dramatic changes needed. Hopefully Truss is so bad that the people come to their senses and muller the Tories at the next GE so that we can perhaps see a Govt. that actually gives a toss about its citizens.

No Government is going to do anything apart from follow the climate change narrative which means less traffic on the roads (covid did that) use less energy (obscenely high prices will force you too) massive meat free diet push (Become a Vegan and eat ****loads of GMOs) blah blah blah blah........the world and how we all live is being deliberately changed!

I hear where you are coming from. I'm all for nailing the energy providers with windfall taxes etc. The worry with that is at some point they will recoup that from us somewhere down the line. People seem to think in 18 months or so the cost of fuel will go down. I don't buy that, it very rarely goes back down. Couple that with people using less gas and lecky and the providers then increasing prices for the profits they've lost makes for very scary times. I'm struggling to see where the arse end of all this is. The government have to act, if they don't we have to make them. As the old saying goes " if you fight you might win, if you don't fight you'll never win."
Saw something this week about schools preparing parents for winter schooling. Telling them to provide their children with additional layers because they can't afford to have the heating on all day. FFS, this is supposed to be 2022 not 1972! 🤬

Doubt it. Labour are so woeful that the Tories will still p*** it. I fear Labour's next decent leader is still in uni. There is bugger all on offer from that shower at the moment.

The difference in 2022 is you can't blame the Trades Unions or the EU anymore. The real enemy of the country are hiding in plain sight. Again you get what you vote for.

Yes, there is a cost to deliver it but paying dividends to shareholders for natural resources should be treated with disdain. On my latest water bill, they charge a fortune for dealing with "waste water". Round my way, that means pumping it into the rivers and the sea. We're being mugged blind, in the name of capitalism.
