I think electric cars are the future
Just like diesel was..
Funny had things like steam engines before I was born lol
I do remember though
Used to take glass pop bottles back for re cycling
Milk came in bottles then Got washed and sent back when the milkman came around to deliver the next day bottles
Paper bags for carrier bags
Jumble sales for clothes if couldn't afford new
1/4 lb of ham or corned beef wrapped in paper
Cod and chips on a Friday that came in newspaper instead of styrofoam.
Sweets that came out a a bigger jar then Tipped into scales weighed and sold in paper bags.
Could go on..
Maybe look to the past to find the future

Paper produces more co2 in production than plastic, often only single use as well. So we have to decide, more co2 with paper bags etc or carry on with plastic bags and less co2. I part read a book that explores this, I just can't for the life of me remember what it's called.
I agree with most points made about electric, I don't think it's the answer and the only people that will pay the real price will be the poor.
How can people charge their car when they can't even park outside their own home. And don't get be started on the vandalism when these chargers get installed on the front of peoples houses.
I honestly can't believe that this is the future.

Seeing as paper is easy to recycle and degrades very quickly. How much CO2 does it take to recycle/ make safe plastic Bob?

Batteries are recycled now
London has one of the largest low emission zones hence the larger number of users.
I charge mine at home from a 3 pin plug, aw do several EV owners near me, it's charged by the KW so what difference if it's ;eft on all night, they automatically switch off when charged.
Too expensive? Who for? The fact you've bought a 45k hybrid says a lot, plenty of cheaper EV's than that or was it a status thing?
we have an EV as it suits our needs, which I'm guessing didn't suit yours.

As had been said It's great if you have a drive or you can park next to an on street charge point easily.
Car prices like houses and most things are about 25% more than they were 3 years ago so pretty run of the mill I'd say.
From a resale perspective as we approach 2030 if it ever happens it will maintain a better resale value than its pure combustion counterparts and I'd argue EVs as well.
Cars never a status thing to me they get bashed about and eventually replaced and like I said I don't think EVs are the final solution
One trip to New York for a bit of Xmas shopping and that co2 emissions saving is gone.
