Here in the north of the country everyone is impacted to a greater or lesser extent. I'm freelance and at home earning nothing. The govt has promised to give me 500 eur at some point.. We had some money put aside for a rainy day, as far as I can see it's pissing down and could well get worse. Lucky I didn't order that Ferrari.
Every family here has elderly relations ill, in hospital or who have died. This is what people are worried about first and foremost. Younger people are also reported to be getting very ill. A 46 year old paramedic died from Covid19 near here on Saturday.
No-one knows when this is going to end, or what the repercussions will be, financial or otherwise.

Anyone with an overseas holiday booked and paid for May want to apply for a refund before the provider goes bankrupt?

I work from home normally anyway so that side of things won't really effect me fortunately.
Issue I have is that I have a chronic illness which means I have a reduced immune system. This puts me at high risk according to the government and their recommendation is that I self isolate for the next 12 weeks...... It could be a very long year at this rate....

I tried getting decorators and carpenters to do work on my place, they both asked if I had been away lately, when I said yes Vietnam they both declined pricing the work...

You have nearly read my mind. If I'm self isolating it's the B and Q first, gonna decorate the house

I'll do it while I stay at yours for a month self isolating, £200 a day mates rate and you supply all meals, not a decorator or carpenter but sure I can do better than many that claim to be.

I've got tools as I used to fit kitchens and bathrooms, any painting I'm sure I'll get by with my dustpan brush.

Never get that, paying decorators, they can teach monkeys to paint, can't be that hard?

Trying to keep a low profile, I'm 61 & being reminded by my younger "friends !!" I'm in a higher risk group I have decided to venture into my wife's car to clean the pigsty.
well after months ( if not years) I have finaly hoover'd polished inside my wife's car.
OMG shoes, umberellas, car park receipts & empty bottles of water.
The floor mats had more sand on them than Blackpool Beach.
When I said to her it was filthy, her reply was " it was my fault as I had not cleaned in in ages"
Is that a clear example of womens logic ?
Keep well folks & if feeling iffy take it easy & we will pull through.
keep safe
Mike
