the day cars/motorbikes go all electric I'm cutting my licence in half..ive drove my mates Tesla and it **** the life out of me, very strange feeling..plus id never be seen driving a Prius..horrible things..also the amount of people walking about with their faces glued to a mobile phone screen, watch the rate of being run over rise...(edit). loud pipes save lives. 
Use to work with a bloke that ran his LDV van on vegetable oil straight from the takeaway and filtered, I always thought you had to add a bit of white spirit to aid sparking, but he ran it neat and it went very well..... stunk a bit tho 😁

Nissan Leaf start at £37,000. Can't afford that.
Also how come I never hear about electric lorry's. How much s hit do diesel lorry's produce and I bet they only get about 10 mpg.

dont forget this is only a ban on selling diesel and petrol cars not a ban on using them (yet!)
whats the average life span of a car? 10-15yrs so if the last diesel car is sold on the last day of 2034 they could still be around for many years after that.
However i do agree with all the posts below that the infrastructure and practicalities for electric cars need massive improvements for it to be a viable alternative for everyone.
whats going to happen to lorrys and buses?
boats and ferrys?
Air planes?
all of this will only increase the demand on our electricity supplies so expect to see investment in low carbon renewable electric sources and nuclear??

In my view we will need a few different solutions to our transport requirements. Obviously electric power works well for the city commute IF we have sufficient resources for the manufacture and generation.
I suspect hydrogen fuel cells and possibly ICE with alternative fuels will also have their part to play.
However the Coronavirus may be the best answer.
Bottom line is there are too many people on the planet.

I've watched a few Moto e races while I've been at Moto gp meetings,,yes they are fast,(sort of) but 5 laps thats it..and if they crash they are so heavy the bike cant be picked up.thats if it hasn't gone up in flames anyway
