Notice Baitworks have now changed their points reward system....I don't use their stuff now but remembered I had points stacked up from an order a while back so thought i would get some pellets.
Now on their new website the points equate to a monetary discount...I have 861 points which gives a "credit" of £8.61 to use....previously you used to be able to use points towards things and it worked out a lot better than that, I remember looking back in October and my points would have got me 5K of boilies...

Not impressed myself by the loss of points, and my results on their food baits last year dropped off. Having a change this year after 5 years using their baits. No doubt I'll be back on it again at some point as had some great results over the years.

Yeah its absolutely garbage now a friend went to do his the other day and its nothing compared to what it was before they updated the website

Had a 100kg dabble 18 months ago after a long time on B5.
Must say I was not impressed, freezer bait very inconsistently rolled and a lot of ****ty bits in the bags. Liquids and pots of hook baits etc were the worst I've seen in years.
Back along DF and Korda were pushing them in their videos and you'd see them about a fair bit, they've dropped off the social media cliff over the last two years, a fast disappearing brand if you ask me.

In all of my time working in my previous role and since starting my own brand I have to say that baitworks is mentioned the most and not in a positive way. I haven't seen any of their products for a while but I would say 90 percent of customers who ring me looking for a new bait are complaining about baitworks. For the reasons stated below. For such a big brand I find it odd that there is so much negativity. I'm not saying this to have a dig as I couldn't care less what others do but they clearly have issues as I have the same conversations day after day.

I used their bait for the last couple of years.....I have been very impressed, and have used high quality bait for many years.

I agree the new point system is pants 1 pence for every pound you spend I think, I've used the baits for a couple of seasons now, always done well in spring and terrible in summer, not sure if it's the baits fault or mine lol

The common themes, are poorly rolled baits, poor hookbaits, and the biggest one is the people who buy large amounts in January sales and suffer poor results. You have to remember that it is very easy to complain about one brand to another and I also understand that the anglers often look to blame something when bites don't happen (and the bait is the first one) But this is so predominant and recurring in the last year that I can predict the brands when the person on the phone says that they have had poor results in the last year.
It goes a lot deeper and some of the customers comments are so accurate and matching that it must be an issue for many. I'd like to say again that this is not my own comments as I'm always very careful in this industry not to go round making up nonsense. But I can literally guarantee that I will have the same conversation more than once in the next week. There must be some reason why it's being reproduced so much. One bloke moaning is often a case that he just didn't get on with a bait for some reason, but when 3 calls in a row say the same things there must be issues. Has it changed hands or something? I don't follow other brands so I'm completely out of the loop with what's going on and often learn things here on the forum.

The bait I got was a bit like a cheap copy of what a mate had been using a few seasons before. Didn't have anywhere near the quality of B5.
The pots of various hook baits were terrible, the only ones that were any good were the hard hookers, they actually looked like the bait my mate had used in the past.
All the liquids went manky, kept just as the B5 ones were and they never skipped a beat.
Overall I got the feeling that maybe some ingredients had been swapped for a cheaper equivalent but I don't know .

I only use their Scent From Hell hookbaits. Never had any issues with consistency or buoyancy.

I saw a photo of some baits and it seems they're not "picking it" which is the process after rolling in which you intercept misrolls.
I don't use the bait and haven't but if consistency is an issue I think the first thing should be to ring, I for one would certainly want to know if an error had occurred, however it doesn't seem to be the case as its quite widespread.
There is one thing I can say about bait works and that is, when people like it, then they really like it, when they don't, they really don't.
There doesn't seem to be an "its alright" opinion ?
I know he hired a general manager but I'd find it hard to believe mark wouldnt be involved in QC still.

there is aways a " I stopped using so and so because ", I find it quite interesting. I've had people come from brands that I guarantee you you'll think extremely highly of same as I do, but on the flip side there are people who almost militantly defend brands that we know produce extremely sub par products.
There is bait being sold for £2.50 per kilo at NAS this year, Im sure we'll start hearing about those baits soon

Yeah it's true Mozzi we always hear the negatives
And as I stated below this is only what people tell me down the phone
I haven't seen the products. When I worked at Blake's many of the customers there were former baitworks users

I've mentioned this before and certain people didn't like it.. But... Over 10 years ago, I picked up a batch of Monster Red directly from Mark at his old unit. First time I'd tried it, but the bait had an amazing taste and smell. Quite unique and I was impressed. Using it was strange, it seemed to either work very very well on some lakes, and be useless on others. But overall i liked it.
Fast forward about 6 years. Based on my recommendation, a friend bought a load for a campaign. The bait he got (apart from being red) bore little resemblance to what I'd purchased years before. The garlicy rich spicy cream taste had gone, and it was now just a hot chilli taste. Red dye used, blatantly obvious it wasn't RR. The smell wasn't the same, nothing like as rich. However, when my friend (very good experienced angler) used it, the results were terrible, couldn't buy a bite on it..
Maybe it is due to some ingredients becoming unavailable, and Mark seems a decent fellow, and I can't comment on the other baits, but something is not what it once was....
