When attaching baits wth a micro swivel on the hook, using a piece of plastic corn as a topper (with a wafter / bottom bait) is blobbing floss cray proof?

Not really no. If they can get hold of your bait they can get it off. Wrapping them up is the best method

I like to try and use the fake corn with the recess for a boilie stop. Tie the stop in place, then blob the knot. Less of knot available to claw it.
Having that much time on their hands/claws, they'll be snipping at the boilie anyhow. This can whittle it down such that the corn that was previously tight against the boilie is now looser with floss showing.
They are cantankerous little so-and-so's! 🦞

Wrapping the baits works ok but the best method is as Karlos has shown with the ESP double corn, they also sell artificial pop ups - I prefer bait screws, I've never had a bait taken off of a bait screw.

Some pics from my French trip in June. The Crays (2 of which pictured 😉) were an absolute pain and I never had shrink wrap. So I drove quite a way to the nearest tackle shop and bought a load the next day.
A fine brace, I'm sure you'll agree!
Single boilie, couldn't pull the boilie stop in due to the wrap
As you can see, they still had a good go at the 'sheathed' baits!
So I tried 2 boilies and you'll notice the (strong!) braid got looped over the boilie stop and I brought the knot down to the hook end. I hoped it would get less hassle down there, slightly blobbed the 2 tag ends...and to my eyes I didn't think those tag ends would inhibit the mechanics of the rig, there appeared to be enough separation between.
Effort paid of on a difficult week, managed to winkle a few out including this known fish ( you guessed right, Orange Spot 😉) at 46lb 11oz. SHB Curry S2 doing the business as usual
