Anyone watch old black and white films?
I was quite into old American detective films for a few years, watched 100s of them, what gets called 'Film Noir'.
From what I can tell it can be an acquired taste, but when I watch them with my sister, she usually enjoys them too.

Basil, have the box set upstairs, don't forget Charlie Chan...used to watch them coming home from school
EDIT, quite fancied reading BR's auto biography but when I was looking it was expensive!

YouTube is a bit of a goldmine for these old films.
Casablanca took me 3 watches to understand, the ending is iconic, but I didn't realise for the most part the film seems to be a bit of a labyrinthine 'mood piece'.
Compare that to The Maltese Falcon, I loved it from the first watch, but on a rewatch it's probably not quite as good as Casablanca. I can never decide.
