Shallower part of the lake is 6ft also where the sw winds blow, fish have definitely been in the area for the last 2 days, just arrived at the lake and its blowing nw with a bit of a nip in the air although the sun is shining, nw is the deeper parts if the lake 12 -15ft, no fish showing and really cant make up my mind, up in the sun where they've been for the last 2 days or down on the end of the nippy new wind ?

Up in the sun/shallow, or in deeper water up in the water for me.
EDIT, on a water I was on, in Feb if the wind changed direction the fish literally left where they stayed in winter and porpoised all the way down the lake on the new wind!

I'd go with the shallower water where they've been happy for days. Saying that, none of the lake is particularly deep by the sounds of it? 15ft is just over a rod length.

I have never understood "Winds in Spring", they seem to go against anything that is logical.
On the 30 acre lake I fish, their is no real shallow areas except the margins and has about an average depth of 12', its just basically a hole in the ground
When you get a good North West wind, the coldest winds you can get, it can be absolutely freezing, logically, you would fish the North West corner were it should be the warmest part of the pond, but, if you go by that logic, you end up missing out, The South East and South bank are the most productive and most of the big 30's turn up during the Spring in those cold conditions every year.
Personally, if I am doing about a 3 or 4 day session, I prefer to stay out of a North West wind blowing into me, instead of spending all that time like "Scott of the Antartic" hunkered up trying to keep warm does nothing for me.

Stick with the shallows I've been catching in 2ft of water this weekend even with the cold wind blowing into the bay I'm fishing in too. They have been in there day and night for last three days. Ive just been fishing singles as they are ignoring any bait ive been putting in.
