So amongst other things. it appears that Mainline have stopped selling their bait dyes
I found that low er levels would give a very nice washed out colour.

Has anyone found a good replacement for the red dye?

what's it like when it's been in the water for a while?
The mainline dye used to go faded ruby/pink..
if confidence was down to colour,

Can't say I've ever deliberately tried to make them look washed out before casting out, but they're definitely a lot paler when I wind them in lol. Will probably take a bit of experimenting to end up with the colour you're after I expect.
