Hi all.
I'm currently looking to get a set of new carp rods and am currently considering either:
- Century Stealth Graphex 12ft 3.25 (full shrink) : My main niggle with this is the Alps waveform reel seat which I don't really like the look of, so I'd like need a custom build with an alternative reel seat.
- Freespirit Hi-S 12ft 3.5 (full shrink) : Again, I'm not keen on the reel seat or handle length (slightly too short), so this would also be a custom build.
I was hoping someone may have had experience with both of these rods to give their thoughts on them, how they compare and which they would go for?
Most of my fishing is on a lake that doesn't require casting any further than around 80-90 yards. For venues that require much longer chucks I'll use a different set of rods.
The rods will be paired with Shimano Ultegra XTE's.

Ive been using the previous graphenes for a few years after owning numerous sets of hi s and the centurys are a nicer rod. Feel lighter more responsive and personally think think look better. Hi s still a great rod though. My mate has the newer graphex in 3.25 and they seem identicle to the previous graphenes so no sure what the differences are.

If you go for the century rods century will build them with the reel seat you want on them just tell the tackle shop your buying them from you want a different reel seat on them . You don't have to use a custom rod builder

I've got a set of Graphex but in the non ALPS / abbreviated handle version.
As mentioned, the factory will build you whatever you want. I'd give them a call, or call a decent shop like Johnson Ross and ask them how to proceed with getting what you want.
They are great rods - enjoy.

Century will custom build them for you. I'd go for the Century over freespirit. The hi-s are great rods but have been out for nearly 20 years.
