I'm thinking of a new bedchair and like the idea of the standard size Solar SP C-Tech Memory Foam MKII. Albeit, they seem out of stock everywhere atm.
I currently have the original Fox flatliner which I have had since they first came out. It has been great and was a revelation for me at the time with it going totally flat, but as I'm getting older everything seems to ache! I'm a side sleeper and my neck and shoulders give me grief.
I've also got a Trakker RLX Flat-6 Bed, which I bought for the weight saving, but it is really uncomfortable for me. I added a Thermorest SIM which makes a massive difference, but I prefer a slightly wider bed.
I have tried the SIM on the flatliner which improves things a lot, but it makes it too tight with my Fortis sleeping bag.
I have read a few posts on here on this newer Solar bed. My real question is, is the Fortis bag a tight fit on the bedchair frame? The Fortis bag is a tight fit (too tight really) on the Flatliner which measures 940mm wide across the mattress, but only 780mm across the frame. The standard Solar says its 900mm, which is obviously the mattress width, but I have no clue on the frame width?
I'm not interested in the full system, just the bedchair as I really like the Fortis bag.
Any info much appreciated.

Just measured mine, between the frame - 730mm

I have the Standard Mk1 SP C Tech currently paired with the Standard (larger) Fortis Bag and its a perfect fit (no overlap to sides / head or feet areas). My understanding is the Standard Mk2 Bed is 100mm wider, (900mm rather than 800mm) so on this basis it may be a very tight fit / stretched significantly from a width perspective . . . .maybe better to take your bag to a shop and check first . . . . why they changed the width between models when 'upgrading' (possibly a moot point) I've no idea!

Hi - thanks. Is yours the newer mk2? If it's only 730mm across the frame then the fortis bag would fit ok I reckon. Or do you mean to the inside if the frame? I need overall width to outside of the frame.

Cheers - This is what concerns me. I'd seen you make this comment before on another thread and it's really what is making me think twice! As you say best thing will be to take my fortis bag to a shop and try. Mine is the larger standard fortis bag too. Only issue is trying to find a shop that has a bed on display to try. Often easier said than done.

100% the Standard Fortis on the previous Mk1 Bed is a perfect fit - being ultra picky its arguably a tad too small for my liking (used to Gardner Compact which overhangs) but being honest if the new Mk2 is 100mm wider as stated I think you'll struggle . . .
On a separate note how do you find your Fortis? I like the fact that its v light / soft and folds perfectly (and is warm for its weight) however I find it a bit 'sweaty' and not as breathable as the Gardner . . .tbf I've only been using it this season / since Spring and only under the upper layer but maybe our warm temps have been too much to test it properly / maybe I need to sleep arctic commando style!

Mines the MK2. I took the measurements on the inside to inside of the frame.
If you want the outside measurements, I can do that for you in the next hour or so.

Apologies... I told you wrong initially. It's 73cm outside to outside.
The frame is 2cm thick on each side. Total of 4cm
Inside to inside - 69cm
Outside to outside - 73cm

I really like the fortis bag, which is why I want any new bedchair to work with it. I like the smooth fabric and easy of movement and that its not fleece lined which I hate. Have to say I do find it too warm during the warm months so often just sleep on top of it, but I'm always hot anyway. I've rarely used it with the outer layer zipped on, but I don't tend to fish during the real cold months anyway. I wouldn't say I find it any less breathable than any other bag I've had. The fleece lined ones I've had I guess tend to feel marginally more breathable but i I think that's just because they absorb rather than breath? I'm a sweaty git!😆
My only real complaint is I wish it was a little wider for more wiggle room as I also toss and turn a lot, mainly due to aches and pains! Old age creeping up on me.

I use the standard size fortis techlite on the new solar sp c tech mk2 and it fits fine. Only gripe is I also like to use a sim for extra comfort which can then make the bag quite tight. Without the sim it is fine, but not as comfortable for me as a 18 stone side sleeper.

Hi - thanks for the input. I'm 6'1” and prob about 15 stone and side sleeper. Sounds like it will be fine for me then unless I find I need to add my SIM too.
