I'm wondering whether there is anything on market that would help as a treatment for fluoro . Anything that would reduce algae / debris on the line . I clean the line regularly but as there is an algae bloom on my lake at the moment this is clinging to the line in minutes . I have seen Gardner do something called ‘fluoro plus' and kryston also have a product called ‘greased lightning ‘ , I didn't know whether these would help and if so which one might be best . Do these also lubricate the line for less friction when casting ? I wet the spool before every cast but you still get some ‘rattle' through the rings when casting , thanks .

Save your money and just put a wettened foam plug in butt ring of your rod or hold some foam in front of reel and wind in to remove the debris. Will also add some tension to take out some memory.

I've used those cheap dish washing sponges from supermarkets in the same way.

I really rate the fluoro plus it just makes casting fluorocarbon smoother and thinking anglers do a line wipe which is decent and with the price of fluorocarbon these days it's worth a few quid to get the best out of it,Hope that's helps

I know this works with monofilement but not tried it on flurocarbon...the products sold for cleaning car dashboards and other man-made non metallic both clean and nourish your line. You might have some already so I think it might be worth you trying more expensive options.

I just put a few drops on the spool each time l go and a bottle last me a good while so it not expensive, l use tiger line fluorocarbon which isn't to bad casting wise for a fluorocarbon but this definitely helps and makes casting a lot smoother and getting you a few extra yards

Frangrance free baby wipes work really well, cheap too.

I like the garner stuff

There's so many uses for baby wipes!

I also use wipes to clean my Kontour with at the end of each session. Just cast out & reel through one of these babies (pun intended) between your fingers keeps it in good condition.

Usually give my rod guides a tickle while I'm at it - takes no time at all. I use the cheap Aldi/Lidl ones but the more expensive brands may add some extra 'nourishment'. I wouldn't know as I'm too tight to splash out.
