Are these, specifically the mini version, suitable for abbreviated handles, it looks like the rod will sit on stainless, lr is the little domed p1 badge enough to keep the rod away from getting scratched?

They do seem to sit on the stainless, I put little bits of the draft seal things for doors on them, they just stick on.

I didn't like the look of just putting the rod on them.

It depends on the angle of your rods relative to the P1 rod rest. If horizontal to them you wont have any problems, you probably have 2mm to play with, if you change the angles however..... How you pick the rod up may be a consideration too

Edit, just get some adhesive rubber dome stickers if you want to see the label or a corn plaster...though not very trendy...lol

Use them on expensive abbreviated all the time - zero issues / zero scratches etc - Little rubber dome works!
