I'm after a rod that I can use for floater fishing that I can also use as a float rod with a centrepin for carp up to around 30lb. I'm thinking around 2lb tc and preferably a cork handle. Possibly some sort of Barbel rod may suffice as I'd probably use it a bit for that also.
Happy to spend up to around £200 for the right rod.

I use a greys surface rod which is a lovely rod which would probably suit you well,
My mate uses a nice daiwa power mesh for both barbel and surface fishing as well which again is a lovely rod although I haven't used it.

You may not have considered a retractable rod but if it is an option and you can find one, the Scope 2.25, 10ft Cork is an absolutely brilliant rod.

I've used it for literally everything, surface fishing, perching, trotting down a river for Chub, stalking, float fishing etc and caught everything from small Roach to 25+ Carp without a single issue.....very highly recommended. Would be the last rod I ever parted with to be honest!

Torrix 12' 2.25 Specialist . . .my pair are my go to Barbel allrounders but I also use them for Tench (maggot feeders) & Floater fishing . . really versatile with a brilliant action - soft enough in the tip for bite detection / lighter hooklinks but also reserves in the butt for bigger fish . . .
