I've just made the switch to braid as my lake allows it. Gone for the sbx in 25lb, recommended on previous threads.
I've never used braid as a mainline really other than lure fishing and sea fishing etc...but I'm a bit paranoid about it sinking.
Basically I've fished two nights with it and sunk the line when I've casted out and it seems to sink great. But I've fished two swims, and the liners I'm getting are savage...almost like runs, all through the night on all rods.
Im fishing semi slack like I'd usually do, but I'm paranoid about the braid not sinking and drifting about in the water hence getting so many liners, or is it just the fact that braid has no stretch so that's the reason, and I'd be getting the same amount of liners with mono and it just wouldn't register as well due to the stretch?
I've caught fish so know the rig and leader are ok but from the rod tip to the leader I'm just curious.

Could just be pike in the margins. I had line tick off the clutch when they hit my line a couple of weeks ago.

Don't worry it will sink, and your correct the liners can be savage, even worse locked up fishing
Everything's just super sensitive but this can be a bonus.

SBX sinks really well, however this time of year if you have algae or debris lifting off the bottom as the water warms up it can cause your braid to float up, there was a recent post on here about it, there's also a great video by Dave Lane explaining it.
One of the advantages of braid is the bite indication, everything is amplified compared to mono, so yes liners and takes can appear pretty savage.
One thing I would suggest is that if you are not used to braid and you have stiffish rods, use a Fluro or Mono leader of 20ft to give just a little stretch and absorb some of the lunges.
My preferred is Fluro as then you know the business end is pinned down as well as it can be.
