Anyone used this stuff? Doesn't appear to be on the PB site but is sold online . . .
Need a 0.40mm mainline but don't want to use mono (eg Synchro XT 18lb / Touchdown 15lb) or the thicker fluros (eg PB Ghost Dragonfly 26lb / 0.43mm) as also need to use tubing etc
Hybron looks like a good compromise however also don't want to make an expensive mistake if its pants (£30 for 250M) . . .!

Have you looked at the Rigmarole FLX fluoro coated mono mainline in 20lb bs?
It's a similar diameter (0.41mm v 0.40mm) in 20lb and is a lot cheaper at £18.99 for 600m, direct from Rigmarole.

Not keen on the fluro coated lines but that FLX does tick the boxes and is cheap enough to respool frequently . . .the Hybron is a different beast apparently (fused rather than coated I think) so was interested if anyone has actually used it . . .£30 a spool is silly but I might bite the bullet and give it a go and see if it actually has the magical properties they claim!

PB made great claims about their mono too. I found it to be less than robust....

I heard that too (Control mono) and would be very hard pushed to move away from Synchro if I was after a mono . . . .just want a heavy / quick sink / abrasion resistant line with no stretch for exclusive boat use but it has to be 0.40mm min . .

Why don't you use braid? Thinking Angers SBX are both .40 or over

Have you considered Yo-Zuri Hybrid ?
Granted it is a copolymer but, it is tough as old boots, sinks like a brick and behaves on the reel.

15lb Yo-Zuri fits the bill and is cheap for a bulk spool . . . but is it any good / do you / have you used it?

Yes, used it for years as my Wife used to travel to the states on business and bring it home for me.
I got put onto it by a mate and used it for years with no issues.
Very good abrasion resistance and generally a good strong line.
The only thing I cannot vouch for is casting at longish distance as, I mainly drop from a boat.

Ultima did a flouro coated mainline as UltimaCarp. They then discontinued it but the sea line is still the same stuff. Bit harder to find in the lower diameters/breaking strains ( I still use 12lb for 90% of my fishing) but can be found with a bit of searching. A bonus is that as sea line it doesn't attract carp tax and is cheaper.
It's quite good although can be a bit lively and stiff initially until it settles down then I find it very good. 👍

In a similar vein was looking at the Seaguar options (Invisex etc) for a cheaper fluro in 0.40+(cheaper than PB Ghost at any rate) but have now bitten the bullet and splashed out on 3x spools of Hybron - I'm blaming this site as I used the 15% TFT code (which worked!) to make the £cost vaguely less depressing . . .
Its either going to be the best decision ever as an 'early adopter' or a complete waste of £ and will end up in the bin . . . new ticket starts April so will be on the spare spools then - will report back whether I've been a mug or not . . .

I used to use the yo zuri, it's ok quite wiry/stiff. I'd recommend p-line extrusion, I've used that exclusively for a few years. It's not cheap and I usually buy from Poland but I like it a lot, and like you mainly use a boat.
