I've been really surprised at how buoyant popups are now compared to when I used to fish, to me needing 2 x AAA to pin one down is ridiculous.

So I'm going to start wrapping up my own cork balls again. I used to use 12mm Thinking Anglers or CCMoore cork balls to make 16mm popups.

Before I buy a bag/table/mix, has the buoyancy of the 12mm cork balls changed too because I don't want to waste time/money/mess if I'm just going to end up with megaaaaaa buoyant cork balls too.

Cheers

I suppose it depends on the quality of the Cork but it's a natural not man made product so I doubt it will gave changed much. I'd advise trying 1 of the lot you buy to see what you think and add/subtract paste as you see fit until you get what you like.

Yeah I can squeeze a bit of leadwire into the cork to reduce the buoyancy a little bit if I need to

I just didn't want to go through all the faff if cork balls are also now mega buoyant because I could just do the lead wire thing to the popups I've got.

Are you sure?
