Looking at one of these for next year, is the extra groundsheet a necessity?

I'd say yes as it protects the inner dome floor.

You could buy a groundsheet from ebay and cut to size, would save a lot of £.

Its not needed but Defo worth it. Protects the inner dome and keeps the tent clean. Also additional insulation for winter months

These top end companies need to start doing a zip in a groundsheet. Game changer. Outrageous you need to buy a groundsheet separately aswell for the nash ones.

The inner dome has a stitched in groundsheet already that comes with the tent.

Got a t1 camo pro delivered this week, ended up getting the groundsheet as I've made the mistake of getting a bivvy in the past then not been able to get extra bits before.

Just like the DT had but it's lightweight and soon has holes in it if you don't put a protective layer under it.

Also if you leave your inner dome in place when you pack up you want the base of it dry to stop mould. You can only do that with a groundsheet under it.

Sadly the condensation and water leaks mean it doesn't stay dry either!!!

Had this with my Titan's before...

Fine it's it's dry all session but if not you ain't packing away the inner sheet dry sadly

I don't disagree with anything you said simply pointed out the bivvy does come with a form of groundsheet.
