Hi all I know is probably been asked 1000 times but can anyone recommend a good set of thermal gear ideally without carp tax. Thanks

Hunt around and you can get them under 100£
Aldi ones when they have them are pretty good.

I've just had a quick look. Tbh if the OP don't want to pay carp tax he ain't paying them prices. 79 to 127 euros for just a set of long johns. The new nash base layer is £60 top n bottoms the old ones are selling off at £40.

Have a look at the Prologic suits, I picked 1 up a few months ago for £100.

If it's base layers then you won't go far wrong with m and s moreno stuff
I also like the ussen set i have had for about 10 years now

Yeah look for anything made out of merino wool. Marks and Spencer do them, which is probably best for cost/value/quality.

I use Ice Breaker thermals myself, with base and mid layers - but they're a bit "technical" with a full range of different weights etc and hence pricey - more top-end outdoors stuff - but they are good quality and much better than any fishing branded product. To be fair the marks's stuff is way better than the fishing branded stuff too

But my advice would be to look for something made with merino wool rather than nylon/polyester etc

I had my Merino wool ones from M&S,they don't seem to do them now.Its all heat gen stuff

Can't beat Marks & Sparks for thermal underwear.still wearing my piss yellow set from years back. Though at one time they were a couple of shades lighter..
