The AA Baits Ultra mix is very buoyant. We use it at only 20% in our wafters with lots of heavy basemix and that's still plenty. So for a straight pop up I reckon it would hold up a house brick. A word of caution though, for home rolling in sure it's perfect, but I've never been able to get it to produce a finished bait as round and reliable as the BAF or CC Moore's mixes so commercially for me at least it's not an option. Lots of other people I've spoken to that have used it complain it distorts and after many many trial mixes I have to agree.
The best mix ever was that original Richworth. Bob Baker was a member of the same club as me for years, although I never met him, I know plenty that fished with him. I'm kicking myself that I didn't get the recipe from him before he passed away.

Any idea what results would be like using the original pop up mix at 20% to make wafters? I'm looking to make 22mm wafters to avoid the bream and roach. I'd be using either size 4 or size 2 wide gape hooks (depending on what looks most matched to 22 millers) with a ring swivel, multi-combi style.
Or am I still better off with the ultra pop up mix? Is the distortion issue you mentioned only a problem with making pop ups, or also with wafters at an inclusion rate of 20%?

I've used quite a few versions over the years inc the original Buttcracker (chris) one that was brilliant, latterly the BAF one but personally have now come to the conclusion none of them are for me and cork balls are the way forward for pops and wafters. They have zero compromise and you can make exactly what you want, with whatever pimped ingredients.
I only stumbled on the sticky guide on here a few weeks ago (Karlos?) and it is brilliant and means even a numpty like me get it 99% right every time.
I would love to hear any tips on cork dust wafter making as whilst i have made them not with anything like the artistry of those others make. Seems really counter intuitive to me to sieve my base mix, then add the granules, I only want wafters and still struggle with how much to add, I just really want to take a bit of weight out and prefer smaller baits - until I get a decent method, it's cork balls for me, so I know 100% whats in the little badgers...

For my own hook baits I use 3 small scoops of fish meal mix to 1 scoop of granules, this was to make small pellet shaped baits, maybe not much help but I've stuck to it, not really wafters just like yourself to take a bit of weight out.
