I'm dew a new phone next month on a upgrade. I've always had Samsung. But I've given up with them as twice now I've had to get trading standards involved as had factory faults with them. I'm looking at the new apple iPhone pro max 16. ( Think it's that one,new one out) I was just wondering what people thought off apple phone as I e never had one or used on. Some people say that are no good and others say that are good. Just wondering what you guys thorts are. Any info would be great thanks

Hello mate, I have had an iPhone since 2016 and cannot fault them, obviously it's a slightly different operating system to Android which you would have to get used to but it won't take long, I also find them much better build quality wise
Now I can't speak for the quality of Samsung in 2024 but I had two Samsungs, the first one in 2010 which I had for around three years, after around two and a half yeqrs it would start to get hot at the back around the battery which didn't happen all the time but what I didn't realise at the time was it was actually ‘cooking' the micro SD card and caused me to lose hundreds of photos, there was no cloud back then so I lost them for good, I upgraded to a newer model thinking it was a problem with that actual phone and got another Samsung, I couldn't believe it when lo and behold the exact same thing happened to the new phone after a similar period, I got rid of it and swore I'd never use Samsung again, I have to quantify that this is my personal experience and I'm sure there are people on here that hate Apple equally as much as I hate Samsung
Also if you buy new, Apple are quite expensive but my first iPhone lasted over six years before I got rid of it only because it was outdated regarding Apple updates

I've flipped between the two for the last 10 or 15 years. Much of a muchness for me. Takes a while getting used to the other after you've been on one for a while. I've been on Samsung for the past maybe 5 years. Cheaper for the same spec and none of the issues with compatibility with other users. Never had any technical issues with any of them, you've been unlucky.

Yeah most likely I was unlucky as I'm sure not all Samsung phones could be that bad and cause those issues or their reputation would be toast but like I say when I went over to Apple I was impressed by the build quality of the phones and they just seemed to be superior overall, albeit for a superior price
I also have to say I've bought my phones in the States as I visit friends there now and then and the State they live in doesn't have sales tax so it's a good saving compared to the price in the UK, I did have a slight issue with my current phone ( iPhone 14 Pro) as it is esim only but got It sorted after a short blip with the transfer process

I have a cheapish Samsung, does everything I want it to and has a good battery life.
My missus has an iPhone, they are supposed to be easy to use but I can't fathom them out, they don't make sense to me and vice versa for her.
I can plug mine into a laptop and do all sorts with it without a faff, as far as I'm aware you have to use itunes on Apple which seems like more faff to me.
I think what I'm trying to say is the only way to find out if Apple suits you is to take a gamble, otherwise stick with what you know.

Silly question. But with the I phone can you still use Spotify app for your music ? And also YouTube for music ? Or do you only use iTunes ? As like my music.

Can't help you there mate as I don't use it for that although I do watch YouTube so I'm guessing you can, as for Spotify I haven't got a clue

Had an iphone once, never again, then went to Samsung and then on recommendation of a mate got a Google Pixel 8 which so far has been great.

I've had both Samsung and iPhone, last year upgraded to the Honor P5 pro and have now switched my other phone to Honor V3.
Have to say seriously impressed with both, more so the V3, my eyes aren't great and with it being a flip phone I can use it without my glasses and use it like a mini tablet.
Quality and spec on both phones seriously impressive.
Can't see me going back to either Samsung or iPhone unless something dramatic changes with them.
Oh and they're also a massive amount cheaper to get on contract.
