Hi All,

I'm looking for somewhere to take my good mate for his 50th next April... we are based in south Essex but willing to travel a few hours if need be...

Doesn't have to hold monsters, I'd be happy if we managed some 20's between us and somewhere it's ok to have a social / few beers / BBQ etc.

Any recommendations appreciated.

Sapphire lakes in Nottinghamshire might be worth a look or Cromwell lakes

It's pricey, but Hut Island on Wraysbury 1 south lake is by a mile the best social venue I've ever fished.

Yeah I think if it was a larger group rather than just us two I would consider that!
