Any suggestions about good people to try?
Used to use Jason Hayward but as he's got bigger they are not as good IMHO, J Precision are not great so looking for an alternative. Kamakura are my back up but quite a few per box need to be discarded as over sharpened.

J precision seem to still be sharp as long as you don't get the new ones with the blob near the eye.. I don't think they are hand sharpened..And the blobbed ones use a different metal

After using J Precsion for years I've just swapped over to IB Hooks and am very impressed.

A few years ago I did a comparison of off-the-shelf sharpened hooks by taking shots of hook points under a microscope and posted it on here. I think it was lost when the forum went down but I might have put it an another forum. I'll check and link here if I can find it.
Jason's were top of the tree, followed by the Kamakura's (despite their flaws) and the JP's. IB and Rig-it were shocking. This was a few years ago and things can change, but I still use Jason's.

Have a look at carpers essentials elite hooks they don't need to be sharped in 40 + years of carp fishing top notch hooks and tackle Steve is a great bloke as well

Are IB hooks hand sharpened?
There website is a bit vague, it says one day turnaround for unsharpened hooks, but doesn't say how to get sharpened hooks?

100% there mega sharp and you can see the material which have been removed, i cant work out how to upload pictures on the forum if not i would have put one on.

Back in the day of Fishing Magic forum and the Black Forum, there was a movement proposing a blunt hook theory. Yes, blunt hook, suggesting that if the fish didn't feel a pointy thing they would feed with less caution. Or some madness like that....
There was even a vocal member there (also as vocal here) who suggested " don't knock it until you've tried it".
Where are they now ?

I am sorry Matt that you feel my products are not as good as they used to be, and that is something I completely refute as I can assure you I take the same care that I always have with every order.
Yes our order books are bulging and I believe this is because of our quality of products and attention to detail and treating all customers (Trade or direct) with the same care and respect.
A couple of things don't quite sit "right" with you posting you are not happy though????
Why did you email us asking for a stock/price list on Sunday 29th September at 7.51pm? And then post up on here at 7.59pm 8 minutes later that evening!!!!
Samantha replied to you later that evening but you have not replied at all? That seems a very strange thing to do as you are not happy?
Previously you have emailed us on NUMEROUS occasions asking for a stock/price list and you never reply and just disappear?
You have emailed us on many other occasions asking specific questions about bait...hooks.... availability etc and you almost never reply and just disappear?
You have emailed many times since 2014 and asked us to price up orders for you, which have always done quickly and politely you have only ever placed a few orders and very often you do not reply?
Previously we have given you your BCSG discount for your last order which was in June 2023.
You have NEVER contacted us saying you were not happy with any of our products?

I've used Jason's products for around a decade now, right back to the early days of making the service available, so can speak with a sensible level of long term user review. Absolutely zero alteration in quality of sharpening from day dot until today and, I would argue, amongst the best (if not the best) customer service around.
Despite some special requests over the years (sending my own hooks, plus ordering others within the same order, and bait) I have never once received an incorrect order within all that time. Always delivered well packaged and within timescale too. Also, in my mind, the products have 100% made an improvement to numbers of fish on the bank, and sometimes putting fish on the bank that in reality I may not have landed (hookholds in heavy weed etc.)
The company are top drawer and come highly recommended. Reputation is everything in this game and all you'll get via Jason and Sam are absolutely superb products, and zero BS!

I witnessed him catch a few on the blunt hook when everyone around him was blanking on a day out with him, while most others were blanking. it wasn't blunt as much as it wasn't pin sharp.
he had some very innovative ideas - the coiled stiff rig that mean the bait always sat close to the lead that meant the bait had exactly the same amount of movement, whichever direction the fish approached it from.
