Smaller!
Reel sizing is different across brands however if you compare the Daiwa SS2600 with a similar larger oldskool reel eg Daiwa Tournament S5000T the Tourney is bigger! Saying that the Tourney is still on the smaller side for a big-pit; the Daiwa Tournament S6000T is more akin to todays more modern big pits . .
At a guess (although I should check as I own all of these reels) the 2600 has a 26mm spool height/length - the 5000 a 50mm spool height/length and the 6000T a 60mm height/length
To make matters more confusing the Daiwa Whisker 25QD has a 25mm spool length/height so smaller than the SS2260 but the spool diameter is wider and more akin to a S5000T . . . !

Very similar in size to a daiwa GS4000 reel though to help simplify things
