Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

I'm looking for full fat GLM powder from a UK supplier with a fat content of 10g/100g minimum (10%).

Best I've found is 8% GLM but I have found 12% but it's from Europe and the shipping and import duty doesn't make it worth while.

Thanks

Have you considered pure Trimethylglycine?

I want to ‘pimp' my boilies with liquid and GLM powder would Trimethylglycine do the same as GLM?

British Aqua Feed (UK site) sells de-fatted GLM but the BAF international site sells full fat (12%) who don't ship to the UK. Cheers Brexit

I had assumed you were using it in boilies, and looking for the highest betaine content. You could use pure betaine powder and wet the bsits and give them a dusting and tgen dry them, or you could dissolve some in your liquids and soak the boilies in it.
The trouble with glm is the cost has gone through the roof, and the quality is variable and inconsistent. You get more effectiveness and efficiency using pure betaine. The fat content is minimal in the quantities used and if that is important to you you can add a bit of whatever oil you have in your bait cupboard.

Thank you I will look into the betaine. Can it be overdone or not?

Have you considered liquidising raw mussel meat and soaking hookbaits in it ? They will have a finite life but even then, decay could be beneficial...maybe dilute with vodka to aid absorption.

I've done this with fresh squid, after 3 days they started getting rank and 'furry' but they still caught. Why buy preserved stuff when you could use fresh? It's worth a try for one time to see how it goes. If you freeze the rest they're good to go.

Maybe add some enzymes as well... a home made hydro is not that bad

Some potential solutions/suggestions that haven't been mentioned yet:

Potential FF GLM providers:

Maybe worth trying Sam Barley on here from Opti Baits, pretty sure he uses it in one of his bait formulations so maybe able to see you the individual ingredient.

Stuart Baitwize Bushell on Facebook - his company's website is down but think he still does a bit and his company's used to be (could still be for all I know) the UK supplier for Feedstim UK who do a brilliant GLM powder.

Alternatives

Liquidising mussels would be a sure fire way to the divorce court for me but Nash sell it in jars pasteurised.

Ourons also sell what they claim to be an exclusive GLM hydro liquid that looks interesting.

Yeah I don't think my wife would really appreciate the hard work of liquidising mussels for bait either.
Are you sure?
