Me and 3 mates are wanting to go on a social at the end of October after not fishing with each other for a while so wanting to go to a fishery as we don't share any tickets. Can anyone tell me if Moreton is a good place to go for a bite and a social if not any recommendations. Cheshire based

I haven't been for a fair while but from the social side of it, lots of people do that, the swims are nice and convenient and a few fish come out, seemed to always be overnight when we fished days. They might well have been extending the main pool when I was last there, seems to ring a bell, they also opened the small pool over the road briefly to Carp fishing, it's normally 1 rod only match fishing, or was then.
Have you thought about Baden Main Pool if you want fun, the swims are very convenient for socials.?

Been to Baden afew times not a big fan were going to go on one of the speci lakes (bridge of glovers) but one of my mates can't fish any distance effectively over about 60yards so just thinking of other places.

He will be fine at Moreton,unless rules have changed its easy fishing.Pigeon conditioner with sweetcorn and fish small baits over the top and don't fish far out

Perfect mate do you know if it's just turn up and pay on the day or booking can't find much about it online

No worries, I know what you mean re Baden nowadays!
Moreton was just pay on the day, it can be hit and miss as to how busy it is....or used to be anyway.

My lad's fished there a fair bit as it's pretty close to us (5 miles). The main lake is fine, he's had quite a few out of there over the years, good for a social. If it's busy, they also have Pecks Lake over the road which you can now night fish. Think he's put a few cats in there also. Just turn up and pay as the other guys have said. There's a toilet, they used to arrange food as well but not sure if that's still the case. They're on Facebook. They also have carp matches on the main lake, so worth checking with them beforehand.
