Hi Guys,
I had some good feedback on a previous thread on the Korda Compac luggage range, but before I go out and buy it I wanted to get your comparative views vs Cotswold Aquarius.
Cotswold is obviously more expensive but putting price aside and if you've owned both, how does it compare?
Specifically carryalls/barrowbags and rod holdalls, I know the limitations of most of their rucksacks and coolbags.

I've owned both and the Korda gear is far better imo,I didn't get what all the hype was with the Cotswold.The trident deluxe rodbag is very good but it's massive,the padding on the Korda is just as good but the bags are more rigid and don't flop in on themselves when you take things out.I also had a cotswold bag fade in the sun and they were not interested at all,I had one item of korda gear that had a stitching issue,it was replaced within 2 days.I have all the dark kamo range and it is the best I've owned

Can't give a direct comparison between the two but I mirror the comments below re CA.
I didn't see the big deal when I had a trident, usually left it behind in favour of an old Saber sleeve - the CA was bulky but made really poor use of its size with few pockets and although I had no problems with it I can't say it felt any better quality than other brands gear.
I had planned on getting the Korda gear a while back but ended up with CarpLife instead, much better than the CA stuff.

Not what your asking but some of the Fox stuff looks nice from the mid week product launch.
The rid holdall caught me eye.

I agree the Korda Kamo is very good but in saying that they are starting to cut corners no handles on carryalls and no chest strap on 30 ltr rucksack no padding on pockets even the cheap rucksacks out there have a chest strap

Had over 20 years of CA carryalls.
Prices now a rip off.
Wanted a rucksack a year or two back and got a Dutch army day sack for 30 quid. Best bit of luggage I have ever had.

I purchased my trident nearly 20 years ago they were £99 back then and still use it today. Back then the quality from the tackle companies was not that great. I still think the quality is better but they've become costly.and most of us like to spread the cost across many items

Cotswold gear was the Burberry of carp luggage for a while, everyone craved it but most couldn't afford it which instigated a flood of knock off copies that in reality turned out to be better than the original.
Very quickly the paying punters realised it was style over substance and to avoid looking a ****er on the bank CA was relegated to the shed in favour of the on trend Camolite and Korda offerings.
And I've had Black bin bags with a better back bone.

Used to love cotswold luggage and just about everything they make but imo speero dpm luggage is better. Same material and looks identical but better thought out and miles cheaper. I still really rate there rod holdalls though and still think there top of the tree for rod protection. I use there two rod link sleeve and its a great bit of kit, super compact but loads of protection and love how the zip is on the back so your line dosent get caught in zip. I dont know why all manufacturers dont put the zip on the opposite side to the reel.

I have the CA Single link sleeve (only CA item I own) it's great, but as you say Speero is at least on par and alot cheaper and to me the material feels more robust. I've a few of the Speero bits, inc the compact rucksack, when they first came out but I find their carryall range a bit lacking and am not a fan of their rod holdalls, again a bit of a limited range.

Thanks, wonder if the fading was a one off or a more widespread issue? Shame they didn't replace, a bit short sighted of them!

Have a good look at the new fox luggage. I've had my fox fx stuff over 10 years. Still in good nick after a hard life.

Korda 100%.
CA is overpriced and not actually that good quality wise. Few bits I have had over the years have had stitching and zips fail.
Have been slowly changing all my luggage to Korda and have had not a single problem, apart from snapping a foot off my framed carryall which was my own stupid fault!

To give you an example of how overpriced CA gear is they have just bought out a Man Bag or "shoulder pouch" as they call it...... £45
