Has anyone used the gardner suspender floats or the XL version and had much success with them? Seen a couple lads with them today and hadnt seen them before for floater fishing.

I had the original from the 1990s, I couldn't get it to work, perhaps I should've persevered but I didn't.
I see they do a XL without the counterweight which I have no experience.
I'd be interested to see on here if anyone got the original to work.

Always thought it was a bit of a niche method along with the beach Casters rig for floater fishing.. obviously must still be a market..

They're good if your lake has never seen them - you need to test them in the margin and ensure the suspender 'cocks' properly; smearing a load of mucilin around the stem / top of the stem helps with this when it lands from a cast, as does experimenting with hooklink length etc
Still have a couple in my garage but they're redundant these days - much prefer the beachcaster method . . . deadly
