Bought a nice Set of Century armalite mk3 10ft 3.25lb rods...and now I have a Problem. My reels don't fit. And I don't want to buy some that won't fit also...so any of you using this size of reel seat ? And if, with which reels ?

They are a nightmare. I had them fitted to my rods by mistake , should of had 20s. Reels are quite hard to find that will fit. I ended up with gold spool emblems. Not a fan Tbh but needs must

Yeah alps 18 are equiv of fuji 16 so you will have to do a bit of research as to what fits . Shimano baitrunners not longcasts and some okumas as well as some emblems not all.

Had on all my customs 20mm Alps. Never ever an issue. But on this...I have no idea what they been thinking.
Will try tommorow some Scope 6000gt.

Is that cheaper than getting the reel seat replaced?

Bought some Grey's rods ( Gt5's) years ago and thought *****, reel seat was very tight and just and no more managed to get my reels on
Before I bought my Infinity X45 which came with the Alps I phoned Daiwa to check which size they were so not to make the same mistake

Is it possible to remove alps to change them. Normal fuji reel seats are easy enough to cut off. Must be a bugger with an aluminium one.

Depends on who built them sometimes just running a heat gun up and down and they twist off othet times its a hacksaw job not for the faint hearted. I have seen all sorts of things under reel seats !!
