Am I right in thinking that the only difference between the standard pioneer and the ultralite are the spreader block on the pioneer is better quality than the ultralite? And also the ultralite is taller? No differences?

Everything is the same material / spec wise - standard Pioneer 100 is slightly wider and deeper but a LOT lower and heavier when fully set up (15kg with infill / gsheet / sticks & pegs etc) - designed for hobbit sized anglers . . .
Ultralite 100 is narrower / shallower but with much better headroom for taller anglers / better visibility. Its also lighter at 12kg but longer in terms of packdown / transport size (weirdly slightly longer than the Pioneer 150)
Ultralite struggles with larger bedchairs (eg wideboys) as the depth is shallow but with a standard 80cm its fine. Perfect all round UK 48hr session bivvy IMO . . . !

I understood it's weight. Got my Ultralite in the new year and I love it. Goes up quick. Once pegged feels rock solid. And the height for me is perfect. Absolutely loved my Lo Pro but for the sake of my back changed it. I'll not go back now.

I have a V2 bivvy and an Ultralite - Ultralite has better headroom / V2 more footspace in front of you. With infills on Ultralite has better visibility (width wise) as mozzie panels are wider/larger - Ultralite also easier to erect/collapse with skull cap left permanently on; I always found this tricky with the Tempest as the velcro straps attach at the knuckle joint which means the skull cap gets folded awkwardly. . .

Can get my wide solar bed in my ultralite no problem. Not much room at the front mind with the front off which is how i use it but fits no problem.

Ultralite isn't as wide or deep as the pioneer
Ultralite is 12kg all in compared to pioneer which is just shy of 15kg
Do the thinner piles on the ultralite matter ? I.e. any issues with them breaking or not being stable in a big wind? Does the difference in the block material matter? I've only ever had tempests with a metal spreader block previously so I've no idea if anyone really notices a difference with the composite materials?

I've not noticed a difference in the block at all.
However I did use my Ultralight in a strong Side Wind a couple of months ago and had to really batten down the hatches, dig the storm pole right in etc, the poles coped with it really well but I'm 100% sure the normal Pioneer would have been much more stable with the thicker pre-formed poles.
