Just got some New Freespirit Hi'S Rods and one of the eyes is on the wonk quite considerably. Is this an easy fix I can do at home with a heat gun to heat the resin and push it back in line or does it not work like that and will need completely rewhipping ?

You wont do anything to the resin apart from fook it up . Take it back .

Quite common for free spirit, their QC is appalling

More common than it should be on rods costing that much,customer service is appalling too

I've never quite worked out the appeal of freespirit with Harrison and Century around.

I had a set of free spirit one rod the butt ring was out of line with reel seat another the real seat span on blank not fixed got it all sorted sold them on take them back change for Harrison

Take it back and get it swapped. The blanks are great but the finish occasionally lets them down.
I had Harrison TE specials used for 8 years, 13 feet Harrison aviators used for 2 years and switched to free spirit 13ft his ive 3 years ago and they are a notch above the Harrison's imo. I wouldn't swap back to Harrison's.
