I'm trying to locate some CI4+ reel seats/fittings fitted to shimano rods if any can help please , I've some to replace on a friend's rods as they've split

It's as if he's tightened the reals down they've split on the threaded side where the reel foot inserts on 2 of them (hope that' explained it best I can), sadly I can't insert photos on here

It's the part with the red arrow but there not that style of reel fitting they've dupion built in , I'll see if I can PM you a photo, if nothing arrives I'm thick and then can't 🥴

Hop you don't mind but I'm gonna be a dick, then you can state the obvious as to the bit I'm missing?
If he needs to replace 2 would he not be better to replace all three with seats that are fit for purpose, that looks a shocking design and is never gonna last as too easy to overtighten.

Got to agree, surely only a matter of time before the 3rd goes, plastic reel seats, not great.

Of course all 3 will be replaced well if we can get any at all ,I was just stating 2 have broken already , but you've surmised it was a set of 3 which i hadn't stated ,it's up to the owner on what reel seats are decided on

It would be worth contacting shimano about those piss poor fittings, they may decide to cover costs for the guy.
I wouldn't be wanting the same seats again!

We've said that , there not relatively new though sadly , it would be worth a shot but it's not up to me

Even given the summation, why would anyone want to replace like for like with that sort of failure
If it's not obvious to the owner might be worth mentioning, unless of course the idea is to move them on as 'original'.

Maybe to keep them OEM , You never know maybe they've been extensively field tested now and the newer versions are failure proof ...Yeah right we can dream ....I'm just the person carrying out the repair trying to source part's
