I'm still using my ESP rig wallet from the mid 00's. It's time I upgraded as it's falling to pieces therefore I'm looking for recommendations please. Something that can hold 40+ rigs.

I was in a similar position to you and I bought the Korda Rig safe, in both small and large and I really like it, with 1 exception, Kordas magnets are very strong and hooks like them
(a common theme even with their tackle boxes)
I haven't counted the number of hook recesses but it looks like it'll easily take 40.

Korda Rigsafe for me as well. Think mine is the medium(or small) which is perfect as i use the 7 inch Gemini tidy booms that fit perfectly in it.

A mate tried one of these and binned it; said the foam to stick the pins in was not deep enough.
He bough the Korda one to replace.

These are actually excellent rig wallets and a different concept to all other rig wallets and is the only rig wallet I use and used one for about the past 5 years or more.. The first thing is, you do not use pins with them. as mentioned, the foam is not thick enough to do that, the rig loop goes round a fixed pin and the hook just gets pushed into the foam.
But there is a fault with that and you cannot really put tension on a rig to keep it tight and straight if it is braid, coated braid or flurocarbon. Nylon etc stretches.
The best way is get some bait bands or silicone rubber hair pands or make some from pole elastic about an inch or smaller long, cheap as chips from Claires accessories. You then loop one through the rig loop, and loop it over a peg and then stretch it tight and then just ***** the hook into the foam. The result is a highly tensioned braid or flurocarbon rig and when you come to use it, they are in perfect condition and more straighter than a normal rig wallet where you just use a metal bar and pins and you cannot apply tension to braid etc.
Another issue you can come up against, hold rigs firmly and carefully when fixing them in the wallet or removing them especially if there is a small shot on the rig and also do not have them inline with the body, if one slips out of your fingers under tension, they don't half travel with some force when they hit the side of the bivvy with a crack.
As for hook points getting turned, its never happened. I am actually surprised over the years, no tackle manufacturer has made a rig wallet whereby there is a method of applying tension to a rig either by elastic or a spring.

The MCF rig twig and tree were both spring loaded to keep the rig under tension. I have a few that I still use, they come up on eBay from time to time.
