I'm on a secluded weedy lake with a boat and allowed to do what I want....any tips on making life easier and baiting up accurately? Take rod out or leave it open bail arm....any advice gratefully received, thanks.

I would imagine buy one of them prodding sticks to feel and gauge depth as well as that's on bottom

Taking rod out is always best but a bit more of a faff.

Take the rod out, nothing worse than dropping it badly and having to go back to base. Few spare pva bags in the boat, as it doesn't always go as planned. Don't rush to get back in, and watch your line lay.

Yes take the rod out, bait don't land where you think so a couple of pva bags spare a good idea,have a prodding stick and a couple of markers out,think about rod order.....got most of that just wondering about any other tricks to make things easier or better.

DEPENDS !
If you have 2 of you mate on the bank holds the rod you row the end tackle out in a bucket when you locate where you want to drop it go past it a bit holding the gear shout tighten up matey on the bank tightens and SINKS !
( he has got to be sensible he is not trying to pull you back in of course )
soon as he feels you and the line is straight and sunk the line you check your bang on the spot and shout LOOSE
Then drop the rig but dont let go of the the line yet !! in case its not right where you want it to be or you wont be able to retrieve it if your happy SHOUT gently tighten up
if you have instructed matey on the bank he very carefully using his finger and thumb rod pointing at the spot tightens till he feels the lead and pulls it back a tiny touch just to straighten up the rig jobs a good un

IF its extreme range you can use walkie talkies or hand signals

-Used half a rod with a big lead and braid as a donking rod if you don't have prodding stick.

Rod in the boat with me is always my preference, you say the lakes weedy if your dropping in holes in the weed and want all your bait on the bottom around the rig rather than hung up in the weed beds if the winds not pushing you along a bait dropper is a good way of baiting up your spots, I have a sea fishing one that drops probably close to a kilo at a time I use it on a length of para-cord which I tie to the boats rowlock just in case, a mate of mine had the same one at Rainbow we bought them for dropping in the deeper water around pegs 16 to 19 only problem was his para-cord wasn't tied off and it slipped through his wet hands with the weight of the bait never to be seen again. 
I've had mine about 12 years or more its 4"x12" in size, you can deposit a lot of bait quickly and accurately especially in deep water where undertow etc.. can carry the bait away.
Not sure what size THIS ONE IS but its pretty similar to the one I have just looks shorter

Some great advice as always on here.
Rather than repeat most of it, I'll say just take your time when you are out there, don't expect to be spot on to start with. If at all possible for your first effort, go when there is no wind. It is so so much easier to learn the ropes with no wind.

deffo rod in the boat, open bail arm & a rag in the butt ring to keep the line tight.
take a few markers with you - a cork with a weight & a bit of line is all you need for each one. drop near the spot & then explore around it - pick them up & drop them until you are happy. if you are going to leave it out whilst fishing put it at the back / behind the spot.
an aquascope makes a big difference but may be OTT for a quick trip.
use a rod with no rig & a big weight to feel the bottom if you can't see it.
fish your tips up high for the first few trips out so you can see your lines & not get tangled up whilst you're getting used to handling it.
